If you go to NAPA or other local auto parts stores, make sure they
order the correct parts for a hydraulic clutch LA318 truck. As '69
was the first year of the mechanical clutch [and 23 spline disc], they
might order in the wrong items.

You have the correct clutch disk for BOTH the 318 and truck /6 in 68.wilmothcody wrote:Trying to figure out what type of clutch i need. my pickup (1968 dodge d100) has a 318 v8, its got the original slant six 3 speed tranny, it has a 318 fly wheel and a ten inch clutch plate with a 11 pressure plate, the input shaft has 10 splines... need help im lost....

Re: transmision help...
None of the local auto supply houses here in Houston have been able to produce a '61-68 11" 10 spline clutch disc and pressure plate for our trucks...keeps coming up 23 spline. I have spent hours in them all to no avail. Even tried Rockauto.. HR has the proper parts you need. Not cheap but you get quality stuff. Local shop can rebuild my old stuff, but I'm going with HR.

I'm not sure if the w300 clutch is different than the d100's..... maybe someone can chime in on this. If it is the same, then it would be the 10 spline 11" inch set up and I would contact HRclutches....they can fix you right up .

Re: transmision help...
I called a place called custom clutch and he went to the pare catalogs. He found that D400 and up came with that set up. However, he could not order it. he could piece meal it together. I also found another local part store with paper that did the same think about $160 plus core. It will take a week. I'll look into the USPS boxes(if it fits it ships) and let you guys know
Re: transmision help...
I'm pretty sure that a 67 w300 would have a 11" ten spline clutch,but with the larger (@ 1-3/8" ) dia input size.
