tranny's makin some noise
i finally got my 67 up an driving for the 1st time in years. let me tell ya. the tranny is making a bunch of noise. so i checked the fluid and it is full. are the standard 4 speeds in these easy to rebuild?
Re: tranny's makin some noise
My guess is the front bearing needs replaced. Only 4-speed I ever rebuilt was for a 66 Corvette 40 years ago and it was a no brainer.

i hope its not the bearing. although pullin the tranny is no big deal. i can pull it myself in a no time. im gonna go threw an check all the ujoints and make sure there all good. i noticed when i crawled under it last week. it looks like i need new straps to hold the ujoint to the yoke. mine are a lil loose.

Have you pulled the trans. before? I'm assuming it's a np420 or np435. Not as easy as you think. Check a few of the threads on the subject, you might need some help.theregularguy wrote:i hope its not the bearing. although pullin the tranny is no big deal. i can pull it myself in a no time. im gonna go threw an check all the ujoints and make sure there all good. yep i pulled it about 5 or 6 times. pretty simple thing. pull the middle drive line undo the 4 bolts and pull on out. nothing to it.
