Okay the engine is a poly 318 and has a holley 4150 on it,And when i try to hold the throttle it just starts popping like crazy around 3500rpm and higher? also the holley has to much fuel in the rear bowl but theres no adjustments for the rear one any ideas,
oh also the carb leaks
1966 dodge d-100 mild built 318 4speed, 3.91 gearing
1966 Plymouth sport fury in process of making a gasser]
1970 Dodge Powerwagon 318 4 speed, 4.88 gearing high reving goes no were
check ignition too, worn points or bad advance can cause misfires too
dirty carb can cause that, intake gasket leaks, bad gas, etc., also a soaked float (they are not supposed to absorb gas) or a sticking/dirty needle-to-seat, bad power-valve, who knows?
...
Vacuum test, total timing, check the coil, and get a new carb!! lol
Oh yeah, also check for a cracked distributor cap, and check for carbon inside the cap, carbon conducts electricity and will short out your primary ignition voltage to somewhere other then the correct cylinder, high speed magnifies the problem
These are all just general suggestions of course, but common problems with misfires, along with many others, are you 100% sure it's the carb?
Also, this is just my opinion, but wouldn't a 2bbl be better? Don't discount over-carburation
