Back on this 71 slant six again. currently, the radiator is a gm style unit with the heads and tank on the ends of the radiator, instead of top and bottom as standard. I havent been able to find a replacement in local wrecking yards( they got crushed with last years scrap prices) I would like to at least have a chrysler style one on here. I can adapt or fabricate to make fit( the gm radiator just doesnt fit and looks way out of place, besides it is way to close to the blades) has anyone had any experience finding a reman or new from the auto parts chains, or possibly modified a later model chrysler product one to fit. I am on a very tight budget so money does matter, i just dont want to butcher the mounting brackets on the truck to make this gm radiator fit.
any ideas are appreciated. or if someone has one to sell, lets talk.
on my slant six, the top hose would go to the driver side, and the bottom hose to the passenger side.
thanks , and god bless,

Re: radiator options?
i am going to have to do something on this silly radiator, the substitute GM one really isnt even close to a fit, and now has a couple little leaks, before dumping money into this, i would rather get a mopar type one that fits better. I know i am not the first to have to deal with this problem.
thanks

Re: radiator options?
Sir
Measure the left to right and the up to down locations
of your mounting holes on your Radiator Core Mount.
With this information written down, go to the local
pick & pull to seek a 1979 to 1986 New Yorker or
like MoPar with A/C ( some of the lower Divisioned
cars may not have A/C ).
Also check the rear wheel drive A/C equiped
Dodge Van Radiators.
When you see what you want, take the Fan Shroud
too.
Sometimes you may have one bolt mounting hole
to drill.
The Auto Parts Clerk can match a engine to
top left, top center or top right hose for you if
you are stuck.

Re: radiator options?
thanks rodger,
at least ive got a direction to try hear. in this neck of the woods there are very few of these types of cars in the wrecking yards, and it seems that as soon as they get there, they CRUSHEM!!!! it is very frustrating. Most just give you a deer in the headlight look if you asked them to call you if one comes in. However, the idea on the van may have some real merit. There is a local yard that sometimes has some of the early 80's to early 90's dodge vans in it. last time there , there where a handful. I may have to take a swing by today and see what they have.
thanks for the ideas
