I have been a mopar owner since my first car, a 61 Seneca. I always wanted a Power Wagon but never had the chance. My mainstay for the longest time was a 79 Trailduster while a 66 IH 1300A 4X4 did all my heavy lifting.

Anyways I have a chance to pick up a 62 W100 for 5k. 318 4 speed stepside, all original with a PTO winch. It looked really nice in the picture but when I went to see it, it is a rust bucket. Floors are gone, passenger door skin can be pulled away from the bottom, nothing for new rockers to be welded to. Even the window channels are like paper in spots. Lot of surface rust on the frame. The fenders look ok. It looks like the frame is bent in the photo but its the camera angle.
There is also nearby a 68 D300 sweptline with a flatbed, 318, 4 speed with a cab with zero dents and no rust, so the ad claims. 58k miles. And it is the same color, but faded.
So, can I swap cabs without too much trouble? I would strip the frame and power coat is and rebuild all the running gear on the W.
The D300 appears to have 6 lug the D100 is 8.
There is also nearby a 66 W100 but a lot rougher than the D300, it has an electric winch, 6 cylinder manual tranny flatbed.
I would guess the 66 would be an easier swap? Or about the same?

The blue one is NOT a 66! It is early 65 or older and would be an easy cab swap. The D300 cab is totally different and requires many mods to swap. Floors in 300 and up cabs are different than 100/200 cabs, + other differences year to year.

Thank you very much for the reply. They want 1800 for the blue one. Maybe just it alone would be a good candidate for a repower and restore. I will try to get over to see it this weekend. From the pictures it looks like there is rust at the bottom of the doors. I am guessing this is a common issue.
Good to know about the 300, I thought the cab might be bigger.

Yes they rust. Its a Dodge thang.

Swapping gets tricky, like mentioned cab floors & what not.

6 lug D & W axle/brake/hub stuff is hard to come by. That can be to one's advantage if they have good parts sell, but a disadvantage if you're the one trying to locate them.

PTO winch stuff adds value if its all there.
