Re: Tallest Powerwagon pictures anybody??
Here's the only picture I have of mine. It isn't that tall, compared to some of the other pictures.
As far as the rear suspension, I plan on doing front drop brackets, and a rear shackle flip. The goal is to match the front with no blocks.

Skyjacker has an 8" suspension lift system I think, not sure if they go back past 1972.Seff wrote:i wish i had your truck crusty. anyone have an idea on how to get a 6 inch lift out of these trucks?
What are the dimensions on 61-71 stock W-series springs?

I think you're full of it Crusty.crusty wrote:Here's the only picture I have of mine. It isn't that tall, compared to some of the other pictures.

Seff, I think that if you are interested in how to get 8" of lift, go read through Crusty's thread in the power wagon section. I believe his front shackle reversal is in there.

PS: I really wish there were other angles of that white 71 on boggers.

Re: Tallest Powerwagon pictures anybody??
Aww you guys are going to make me blush
I gotta say, it is nice to know that people like what I am doing. Anyway, here's some measurements from my truck. The bottom of the frame to the axle tube is about 15.5" and the front spring eye is mounted 6" below the frame. Also, the rear shackles measure 6" from eye to eye.
This might be about 8" over stock???
The reason I redid all this was that the bent up factory crossmember seemed flimsy, and I wanted to do crossover steering. I figured that doing a shackle reversal at this time would be good as well. My crossmember is 3" 0.25" wall and the side mounts are 3" channel. Hope this helps anybody who is looking to do something similar.

I recently bought a 6 inch lift kit from skyjacker, for my 63 crew PW. there were a few set backs with the install but for the most part wasn't to bad.Seff wrote:i wish i had your truck crusty. anyone have an idea on how to get a 6 inch lift out of these trucks?

Never exotube a powerwagon. like the truck isnt tough enough with its heavy body steel.
