for those of you who didn't know i am the lucky new owner of FrankyBs old 69 w200 that was on the for sale forum a few months back. It has proven its self a great truck to just drive around FT Irwin and besides the poor gas milage (4.88 gears) it has yet to let me down. today was no exception. I took it to some trails outside of calico near barstow CA and tooled around miles of trails and was surprised how well that old goat did! even with short street tires and lots of caution for the sheet metal, i managed to paw my way up a nice little trail that stopped a newer lifted chevy in its tracks. i just left it in 4 lo and first for the real nasty stuff and just the the gears do the work. It was a blast. i have done a lot of runs in that area in my 89 jeep comanche with taller tires and more lift or on my dirt bike but this was probably the most fun i have had up there. the old girl would just keep plugin' along. all in all it made the 70+ mile round trip and a days worth of wheeling without a hitch. i think she was just happy doing what power wagons do best.

Gotta love the 4.88's I have them in my 68 W-200 but she does get a little raspy on the highway.
