House sold

I have been trying to sell my house for awhile as I wanted to move to the next city
from where I am currently residing. I bought this place 9 1/2 years ago and while
it serves the purpose, I have never really thought of it as home, and have never been
happy here, the main reason being that I had to buy a house because my marriage had
broken up and I had to move. Those are not the right reasons to buy a home, or actually
anything else.
I will be making an offer tomorrow on a house that has been empty for 2 years. The older
couple who lived there passed on. The owner wants to sell really bad, and this house is
almost exactly what I was looking for. It has a full basement that I will be able to put my
woodworking shop in (It currently is in an outbuilding that is unheated and unusable for about
half the year, which is not good.)
It also has a full sized garage in it which this house doesn't have. There is an attached garage
here but it isn't big enough for the truck I am buying from my brother, it just barely fits my
SWB Caravan. The other house's garage will fit that 97 Club cab in with room to spare.
The best thing of all is the price. The mortgage payment will be less than half than what I am
paying now (I got stuck in the mortgage mess in 2006 and 3 years later it wasn't worth what I
owed on it. While I didn't make what I wanted on it, I did get enough to put down on the new
house and to pay the balance off. My interest rate will be much improved as well.
Being retired has been something that is an eye-opening experience, and this will allow me to
have a nicer and better house that I can make into a home while what I owe drops by a large
amount, because the mortgage is way less than what I owe on this house.
Between the basement (which I do not currently have) the garage and the other parts of the
house I will be able to hang up all my Dodge stuff which includes memorabilia from a Dodge
dealership that Chrysler closed in 2009 that was a charter Dodge Brothers dealership that had
opened in 1914. In my home office I will have that dealership's 5 star dealership award from
Chrysler, plus their 75th anniversary plaque of which there were only 9 of them given out in
1989 to charter dealers, and of which there is only one dealership that qualified for the 100
year dealership award, and that was Oliver C Joseph and Sons in Belleville IL who opened up
on June 1, 1914. The guy running that place is the grandson of the original founder, and they
are listed as the world's oldest Dodge dealer. :salut The owner is a friend of mine!
