I'm new here,so...
Hello. I'm new here. I recently purchased a '65 Dodge D100 and have a slew of basic questions. Can anyone help ?
Note: I'm extremely technologically challenged so your patience with is appreciated. Anyway, first question, 318 V8 what oil should I use?

I like 10W40 Castrol GTX, or Valvoline. I also use 15W40 Shell Rotella-T.
Filters - people have their favorites, just like with oil. I like WIX 51515 oil filters.

Second vote for Valvoline and a Wix filter. Congratulations on your first sweptline!

Welcome to the site!
Try these guys....
http://www.lesfrickshun.com
They blend motor oil with Zinc [ZDDP] which is recommended for
older flat tappet engines.
Depending on how often
you plan on driving your Sweptline, using today's motor oils
[ex: Valvoline] may not be an issue. Zinc has been removed from
many of today's motor oils, as I understand.

Re: I'm new here,so...
Personally I use 15/40 oil as my truck is only driven in the summer. Filter I use NOS AUTOPAR filters.

You can purchase a zinc additive to use with any oil you prefer as well.
