This sums up everything.
that's a great example of where two people say the same thing and mean something totally different.
if you are going to reference 'columns', you should at least use examples where the 'writer' is literate.
hanson's rant is a basic parroting of the limbaugh/talk radio model... long on hate, short on substance. btw, do i need to remind you that limbaugh is a 60 year old designer dope addict?
you see, it really doesn't matter whether limbaugh is a dope addict or not, but by throwing that in i descend into unnecessary and irrelevant nastiness that is the stock and trade of talk radio/beck/o'reilley/fox etc...
i did note that hanson managed to work in a complete absolution of bp's malfeasance and a re-assertion of the primacy of israel.
like i said, the democrats need a spine, the republicans need a brain.
maybe they should get together (without limbaugh/palin, or any other of the hate monger/wingnuts) and work it out. you need to be rid of the parasites that are sucking the blood out of your government and your country. the democrats know what needs to be done, but lack the courage... the republicans are plenty courageous, but they don't know what to do or where to begin, as long as they have pied pipers of hamelin (talk radio/fox etc) leading them down the garden path they will never be headed in the right direction.
as far as maligning socialism as a dirty word, moderation is the key. remember that canadians are quite happy with our 'socialized' health care system, in spite of the fact that the israel lobby is trying to remove it from us surreptitiously. also, it was our 'socialist' component that prevented the american (republican) style deregulation of our banking system. in fact, our conservative (republican) federal government was still trying to overcome political opposition to deregulate the system just a few months prior to the collapse. as it stands now, our banking system is one of the strongest in the world. stopping conservatives (republicans) in their tracks can be a very verrrrrrrry good thing.
unlike the american left (democrats), our opposition parties stood up to the conservatives. one of the reasons that was doable was that we don't have the poisonous 'do it our way or be called a traitor' component up here. much of the problem in the states is clearly the de facto republican license to call anybody that disagrees with any of their policies a traitor, or at least, bring their patriotism into serious question. fortunately, that kind of bullshit simply doesn't work up here... and like i said before, if cornered... sarah palin, rush limbaugh, bill o'reilly, glen beck and that whole gang will all side with israel, first and foremost, every time.
what kind of patriotism is that.
in order to deal with it's problems, a country needs a government that has a license do what needs to be done. foreign control of your government will never allow you that.
