public shout out.............

so, im at work the other day, and i get a call from 64d200pshbttn, aka jd, bout 9:30am. he asks, "you know anyone with a silver ford truck?" "nope, why" "cause they are backed up to your front door and unloading your house"... my heart fell to the floor. im 3 freaking hours away, and helpless. i tell him to call the cops and get back to me asap. well, he did, then turns around and pulls into my driveway to see whats up. 4 guys come storming out of the house, jump in the truck and haul @#%. jd tryed to chase them, but after they popped a few shots at his truck he stopped and went back to the house. thank god they are pitifull shots, that could have gotten ugly fast. so the cops show up, i get with my wife and have her meet out there. the house is trashed, everything has been rummaged thru, they tossed the bedroom, and my front door is busted to hell where they kicked it in. jd got a good description of the truck and a couple of the guys. it was a matter of hours before the sheriff had the truck in impound and had names of who busted into my place. they havent recovered any of my property as of yet, but im still hoping. the *#%^$&@!# got all my wifes good jewelry, all my guns, most of my dvds, my harley jacket and boots, and had all my tv's, vcr's and stereo unhooked and sitting in the floor ready to load. i can only imagine how much worse it would have been had jd not driven by at the right time. they hit me for a little over $4000 worth of stuff, and have managed to make it where my wife will no longer go to the house alone. id love to get a few minutes alone with these guys when they are caught. from what the sherriff has told me, the crooks MO was to hit right after the home owner leaves for work, so they have all day to get what they want and be long gone before anyone gets home. they have hit many places in the area, and this is the first time they got caught. unlucky for them, they got caught by the sherrifs son who knew what to look at, and was able to give good info to the responding officers to get these guys busted.
i just wanted to make a public THANK YOU to jd for looking out for me and my place. thinking of how many people would have turned a blind eye and just kept driving makes me realize even more what he did for us. now i cant say i agree with the pulling into the driveway like the lone ranger, or chasing four guys, ALONE. but you can bet i would have done the same thing if the situation was reversed. so i guess i cant say anything there.
THANKS MAN, I OWE YOU ONE!!
ON A FUNNIER NOTE... i asked jd if he ever thought he would be shot at BEFORE he became an officer?? he tells me, "im a redneck it was bound to happen sooner or later!!!"

Sorry to hear this.
GLAD to hear you have a good friend near by!!
My neighbor lady is a semi-invalid and she keeps an eye on my place like a HAWK.
Even calls me to let me know someone is in my yard if I don't answer the door fast enough.
Here is hoping johnny law nails these guys to the wall and THEN dumps the bodies in an abandoned mine shaft.

More people should do what he did, and more used to.

Wow man, that is just sickening. Go to work, earn your own way and make a normal contribution to society for some low life D-bag theives to come in and clean you out.

Sorry to hear about that man. Glad to hear someone was looking out for you and they were caught though.

I'm glad they got caught! Unfortunately times aren't like the old scooby-doo cartoons where the bad guys were put away for a long-long time.
Todays judges & entire judicial system is a joke. Those idiots will be back out on the street in no time, fews months at the most. A guy that I graduated with in high school ('86) has been arrested/convicted for thefts/drugs charges over 12-15 times in this same city. They never keep him more than 6-8 months at the annex, restitution center, or state jail. They put him back on the street. He goes right back to stealing. Last month he got picked up stealing a shopping cart with 7 cases of beer, case of toilet paper & bag of puppy-chow. He will be back out next spring and back at it once again. It never ends til someone puts a cap in their a**.

sorry to hear about your loss, but it could have alot worse if JD hadn't gone by when he did. big KUDO's to him for being observant! crime has rampant in my neighborhood with these hard economic times! my fear is coming home to that! or worse if they enter when my house ISN"T empty. several houses around mine have been hit, one diagonally across the street actually has been hit twice. but having a large pitbull i think has been the best deterrent to theives. a good friend of mine, neighbor & Sheriff will not come near my house when I'm not there. but loves to bring his daughter's (ages 6 & 9) down to play with the dog when I'm home.

Trey,
Do you still have a Rottweiler at home? Sorry to hear you're house got
knocked over. Three Cheers to JD for running them off though!!
I have a great neighbor [elderly cattle farmer] who keeps an eye on our
place.
One note to anyone who has had a car stolen and then recovered it....
Check under the seats!!... thieves who are "users" sometimes put their
used needles under car seats pointing up so the first person to sit in
the vehicle gets a butt-load of misery and potentially worse. When we
were still living in the city [Buffalo, NY], two of my wife's vehicles were
stolen and recovered.... luckily.... no drug paraphernalia was left "behind".

john, since they kicked in the front door they didnt have to deal with my male red healer, he has been restricted to the back yard. he is NOT nice to strangers, nor is he very nice to anyone but me...thus why he is outside. had he been inside, they wouldnt have gotten far. the rotty passed away at the ripe age of 14 last summer, and my boxer/pitbull met the front bumper of a dodge dually at the end of last summer when she got out while i was at work. so my inside gaurd dogs wernt there to help. we got 2 ankle biters, but they wernt much help hiding in thier kennel. im hoping the fact that they popped shots at the sherrifs son makes sure they get more then a few months for petty theft, they graduated to attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. not to mention, im sure being a well known sherrifs kid, they will get the book thrown at them. in the near future im expanding the fence to cover the front door and walk way, make my own modern mote. completly surround the home with my healer/crocidile swimming around....lol

oh man...i usually don't click on these kind of posts, but Im glad I did...Im sorry to hear about both your house being robbed, and both your "puppies" passing away..My house has never been robbed (knocks on wood) but my neighbors house got hit 3 or 4 times..they always got in on the side that was lined with orange trees, so we never saw a thing..Please stay safe, and I hope they hang those *#%^$&@!# by their balls....I gotta stop typing now..im gettin mad

You were lucky that JD was going by when he did, and what he did was really above and beyond what 99% of the general population would have done.My hat's off to you JD
I hope that the sheriff nails them good and maybe they will run into a doorway or two
The court system in this country is

up hopefully that will change but I kinda doubt it.
I hope everything turns out okay, Life shouldn't have to suck

Sorry to hear of your plight.
We have an area across town called "Felony Flats" and thoes apartments are slowly being boarded-up. So, you must be getting thoes California transplants as most of the forclosed houses have been stripped of recyclables.
All of this ca-ca will bring back Street Justice.
Good hunting

Sorry to hear about what happened. The same thing happened to me about 21 years ago and the wife still isn`t over it. I got lucky and the responding officer, we didn't find out about the break in till wife came home from work, had just finished a sixth month tour on burglary duty so he knew the right procedures and they caught them later that night and we got back almost everything. The earlier post was right in that the ringleader was a friend of my roomate at the time and was on probation for an earlier conviction and the judge only gave him six months and counted his time served, waiting for trial, for the parole violation. Here in Colorado the governor is doing early release, to save money but not lives, and releasing prisoners that had on average about 20 prior arrests. They always seem so amazed when these dirt bags commit more crimes. Hopefully they will round all of them up and send them away where they can learn how to do more crimes.

Many kudos to JD for what he did! The world needs more like that. I've never had theives hit the house, but they did hit my truck once when I went to a bar to give some friends a ride home. THey got about 6 grand worth of tools and equipment and made a serious dent in my income for a couple months till I got it all replaced, they never did figure out who did it. My wife had a stalker kick the door of the house in once while she was home alone, after he kicked the door in he made it halfway across the living room and mellowed down to bleeding on the carpet while waiting on the deputies to arrive. Never piss off a redhead with a rifle. 62DodgeDog is right, legal system here in CO sucks, dude was on the street in a matter of weeks, fortunately he made a mistake and commited suicide by cop the second time around.
Hope they put those dudes away for a long time, and I really hope you get your guns back.
