So, im just curious, is there any little thing I should look out for with any certain year trucks? Or is there something that urks you about a particular year? It could be the littlest thing.... maybe theres a 1 year only thing thrown in.

i.e. - Ive always loved 71 Challengers for the grille and tail lights OR I dig the early Abodies but it was sweet when 73 got big bolt pattern wheels

The 1969 roadrunner looked the best. The 68 and 70 were next in that order, 71-75 looked stupid.

I'm currently (a year or so from now) restoring a 1969 GTX 440. The worst thing about old mopars is the floors seem to disapear in almost every one I've seen.

The sweptlines are notorious for having troublesome window gaskets, and the windshields are a pain to replace.

Certain year only parts. IE, 68 hood, 68/69 grille, 67 doors, (68-71 doors will work, but you have to tweak them a bit). Stuff like that. Almost every year has a different wiring diagram. Just stuff like that, I guess.

good to know! yep, like i was saying above.... it could be something you especially like or dislike about em.

But its good to know year specific facts.

'85 wasn't that great of a year for me. 70 Superbees rule. Post-70 B-bodies don't.

Ahh.... that struck a chord! I used to own a '70 BEE with the 383/727 [column shift]
and 3:23's. It had the Dual Scoop A.I. hood and a wood grained dash! I paid a
whopping $175 for it about a quarter of a century ago.... and THOROUGHLY enjoyed
it. [Red, black vinyl roof, black "C" stripe and factory mags ]

Anyway..... back to Sweptlines.... my ONLY complaint is that, no matter what the year, they
were very rust prone. Other than that.... I dig 'em all.

Name a 60's truck that wasn't? My dad's 67/73' bowties were total rustbuckets, and this was in CA. I must say it was a total eye opener living in Columbia,SC, and that isn't even the rust-belt proper. Simply no old cars at all, and in a no-smog state.

I"m kind of glad to be back in CA, and kind of not. CARB+AB2683 = gayness (yearly smogs for any 15 year old cars + only carb approved emissions/engine components). Half the reason I decided to buy a Sweptline was to avoid all of that nonsense, since they're all pre-smog(<"76).

It's really too bad lawmakers think like Al Gore and don't consider the impact of fabbing new cars when they decide to legislate penalties to owning old ones. It doesn't matter whether they were made of old growth timber and baby seal fur, they're made, and making a new car both creates pollution and takes resources. If they're all that inefficient (my 80' corolla/(3tc)micro-hemi isn't, at ~24mpg) people will drive them less just based on fuel prices. It's not as if my 65' (1 ton(@~10mpg) is even wildly less efficient than a new 1 ton Chevy(or any other make). Those things get ~14mpg highway tops, hardly a major improvement.
