ive got a book that has a pro street style one in a pretty cool orange in it, its got about 2-3 inches taken from the top and MAN does it look bad @#%! but ive had my own idea of making the body lines a bit more pleasing. though not a chopped top i think it would get the same effect. what i was gonna try is to get a few sets of doors from a scrap yard, and finish the wing window body line(the hump in the door that the wing sits on.) all the way down the door and use a one piece glass window and get rid of the wings. it would essentially bring the top down by bringing the door up. and if done right you probably wouldnt know it was even done to the truck.

somewhere in my photo archives i have pics of 2 sweptlines that i took pics of at Carlisle in yrs past. both had chopped tops. they looked pretty good. both were short bed trucks, i would like to see a long bed truck done. i think it would look really good

I dunno if I like it. Cab almost seems to small in relation to those big slab sides. I think I'd just chop the A pillar and bring the "brow" down.

to chop a truck post 60, you either have to have an insane amount of skill, or a really creative mind... or both to pull it off. its all about proportions, that orange one, im sorry to say looks rediculous. our trucks are too damn big to chop, theres not enough shape to work off of( such as say a 51 chevy truck, you have the front and rear fenders to contradict the chop). now if you got really into the chopped look, you'd almost have to compliment the chop by sectioning the body, but then you'd probably want to shorten the bed because it would look too long

every action has a reaction. some things just shouldnt be chopped.
besided chopped cars and trucks dont look good unless theyre laying rocker

I agree. But I actually came across a black '69-72 chevy the other day that looked ok chopped. gave it a mean lowbrow look that goes with the round lines.

I think the glass-to-mass proportions of the 61-71 truck is perfect.

The orange one looks rather sinister. I wouldn't try it though, mainly because if I manage to actually stick two pieces of steel together correctly... I'll probably keel over dead.
People have told me to chop the lid on my Pilot House...

Not gonna happen, stock roofline is already 4" shorter than a same year ford or chevy.
