On the big 5380 yoke (4.50" across), the driveline guy with whom I'm dealing says the straps are unobtainable. He's been in the business for 40 years. '68 and earlier they used the 5380 for the heavy duty trucks such as the Camper Special and for the big block. On a '69 I wouldn't be certain, so I may have spoken out of school depending upon what you have. So it depends upon whether they used the (optional) big yoke.Specwar762 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 9:25 pmIs it not just one of the standard u joint straps that Dorman sells?

From what I can tell, the 1969 Dana 60 rear axle uses a 7260 style yoke. I ordered some straps to see if they will fit.

Re: 1969 W200 Power Wagon
Seeing as you lost a strap, take a close look at that yoke, as it might have been damaged as it came out. I have a '69 W200 with a rear axle that is no good I am going to part out. So if you need a yoke I'll pop it off and give it a look (don't know about the seal journal). If it's good, I'd be happy to just send it. That truck also has a relatively low-milage driveshaft with a later model sliding yoke, but I'd have to sell that because of the trouble shipping it.Specwar762 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 8:31 amFrom what I can tell, the 1969 Dana 60 rear axle uses a 7260 style yoke. Man I’d really appreciate it if I need it. I will let you know. This thing is going to be so much easier to work on when it’s on concrete and not 2 hours away.Wildergarten wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 9:10 amSeeing as you lost a strap, take a close look at that yoke, as it might have been damaged as it came out. Re: 1969 W200 Power Wagon
Are these rust spots about normal for a truck that’s been sitting outside this long? I’d assume I can cut and replace these areas with sheet metal?

Ripped out the carpet and vacuumed it out.
I'm assuming this is the dreaded common cab mount rust? I'm assuming I could just cut that area out and weld in some metal to fit it up? I don't care if it looks pretty or is correct.

No, not the common "cab mount" rust. Its the common rotted floors, rotted rockers, rotted steps hell, and more. So far, I haven't seen even ONE panel on that truck I wouldn't send to china.

It's dry enough in west Texas he should be able to find something better.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 7:12 pmSo far, I haven't seen even ONE panel on that truck I wouldn't send to china.

Re: 1969 W200 Power Wagon
A few more pictures. Sprayed the floor board with some rust converting primer just to clean things up a bit and stop any surface rust.

Re: 1969 W200 Power Wagon
By north east rust belt standards..... you've got a relatively decent truck.
If you basically were given the truck for helping your uncle spiff up his property and if you're
not trying for a "concours" restoration.... dump a bit of money in it and make a driver.
That light duty rear Utiline bumper looks remarkably straight for being a military... and then a
civilian truck. That's probably $350 worth of bumper.

Now that you're there, I have some part numbers for you, but I would need to know if the yokes you have are the older 10-spline design or not (as mine are).Specwar762 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 10:37 amThis thing is going to be so much easier to work on when it’s on concrete and not 2 hours away.

Re: 1969 W200 Power Wagon
I agree that by "The Great Rust Belt" of America, that even we see this truck, makes it a fine truck! Looks like it has manual lock out hubs up front too. I would cut those floor pans out, and go over the cab and bed mounts.
