People will buy anything

Post by Gilesie »

A mate of mine told me that he was going to throw away an old trailer that he has got, so in the conversation I said to him we should put it on ebay for a laugh.
Well people are actually putting bids on this old piece of crap which we both thought that the best
value it would have was making a bon fire out of.

We are both dumbfounded but also have quite large smiles on our dials.

You guys use standard measurements down under?

For some reason I always assumed you'd use metric...

How many other countries around the world are holding out with us, I wonder...

The AUS/NZ/GB/ZA folks use English measurements on some things but are they're officially on the metric system. The only countries still officially on the English system of measurements are the United States...and Burma (Myanmar).

just got a question from somebody interested in the trailer.

Hi there! Can it be moved? Do all lights work? Is it roadworthy? How good are wheels, wheel bearing and springs (shockers)? Do you have all the connections car-to-trailer? What type of connector has it got (number of pins, shape/size)? Does connector come with the trailer? Is there any rust that would be hard to repair without welding and are there any holes? Thank you, Eugene.

I checked to see if it was any of you guys playing with me but it came from an Aussie email address.

Ebay just proves the old saying, "A fool and their money are soon parted".

A man I know and do business with for my ACVW parts told me that pieces from cars he's parting out (that he'd normally toss out), get sold on Ebay. And usually for more than a new part would have cost the guy! :pale
