carb questions

I have a carb for a 361 and I find out the base plate does not match the bolt pattern on my intake. what do I need to know to be able to get a carb that will work for this application. I dont want to change intakes

Is it a truck 361? Was it meant to have a governor?

yes, it is a 71 D600 and it does have a governor

I am thinking governed engines & non-governed engines use different base patterns, but I'm not certain. The only engine I've personally dealt with that was governed was a 318 poly.
