Checking in been a long time
Checking in been a long time
Howdy.
Wow seems like years since I have been some what active here.
Since selling both my Sweptlines, every time I see one, vary rare in this city , I think
of this forum and members . I did make some freinds here and do miss ......well crap going to get
soppy.
Life happens we go on.
Also I have a good freind and neighbor who is in very ill health and needs to sell a
1971 Dodge 400 with a large work box and low low original miles, around 57,000 He is the second owner
and used it in his landscape sprinkler business. It has been very well maintained over the years.
The truck has a/c and of course the 318 in front of a 4 speed. A California truck "no rust"
The reason I'm here is to get an idea of it's worth so I can help him with the sale ,as well as say hello to you all.
Got many photos .........here is one.
Best

Re: Checking in been a long time
Do you have an idea of what he is actually wanting to get for that? I wouldn't mind having that, but putting a value on a medium-duty truck is tough.

Re: Checking in been a long time
Chris,
You'd look pretty good in this D400!...
I'm sorry to hear your neighbor is in poor health. If the truck
is all original and rust free, I'd think it would be worth $3500
to $4500 or so...

Re: Checking in been a long time
Hi Hewy, really good to hear from you. As to vaue there was one on craigslist local that seemed to be a very good comp. It was advertized at 2,500.00 I felt it was a super purchase price. It probably could have been 3,500.00 and still very legitimately priced. Gordo
Re: Checking in been a long time
Gordo.I'm thinking to set it $4000 and see if there is interest, I know the history
of the truck and the owner who is very meticulous about maintainance and use.
Great to hear from you.

Hewy, keep us posted on that truck. I have a small business and that thing would be awesome. Shoot me some pics if you get the time. I would like to see what the inside of the box looks like, thanks, andrew. slicknapier@yahoo.com

Re: Checking in been a long time
That has the makings of a killer RV of some sort. Put a roof on it like a VW Westfalia camper van has, maybe. I like this truck. I think $3,500 - $4,000 is a reasonable start point on price. Any idea on fuel mileage? This would be a great Cummins swap candidate!

Miles per tank ? No idea but probably lots.66patrick wrote:That has the makings of a killer RV of some sort. Put a roof on it like a VW Westfalia camper van has, maybe. I like this truck. The box is all steel with outside lockable cabinets. Inside has bins and cabinets for storage, as well as a sliding roof for stand up,
work or play .
