'61's first car show.

Post by Txas2step »

A local repair shop Adolpf Hoepfl & Sons ( est. 1942) has a small car show every year (20+ cars). 5 blocks from my house. It didn't win any trophies but had lots of lookers and questions. Only other mopar was a '58 Christine that was pristine and took the gold. 392 hemi w 2/4's. What a beauty. Rest of the awards went to the typical '55-57 Chebbies. Had fun and made some new friends. :Thumbsup

It's nice to have something at a show that no one else has.

Looks good , Randy

Very nice 61 , I agree , I like to see unique rides at car shows, seen enough 55-57 Chevys to last a lifetime, even though they are very cool.

Nice Truck! I believe that 55-57 Chevies, 55-57 T-Birds, Mustangs, Vettes should all be classed by themselves. I mean, for those cars you can buy any part you need. You can even buy whole bodies for Mustangs (maybe others too). But how much can you get for a Sweptline? OTHER than Rubber parts? hmm... not a whole lot. But... that is why IF/When I take my "stuff" to shows, I ask NOT to be judged. It is just isn't fair to be judged against "Biased" judges  Besides... I firmly believe that those 'types' of shows the winners are usually "buddies". However, it is great that you took the truck out and had a nice time and met some friendly folks. GREAT JOB on the '61 though :salut

Thanks guys, I could care less about trophies. Reward enough to have something other than the run of the mill. What was neat , just about every woman there came up and ask me questions about the truck. :Thumbsup
