Hey all, I got some old school side pipes for 10 bucks a pop at half off day at the bone yard. I will get pics up to show you since they're mounted and hooked up already following a mad wrench fest to get em hooked up so I could drive it to work today
Anyone seen these done before? Opinions? The suspension is kind of a head ache and they're cobbled together with flex pipe and leak quite a bit on the right but at least the old girl's rumblin in stereo now.
Update! We got em sealed up a little better so now they just sound like leaky headers. Those old glasspacks sound good, don't know the brand. They're on there in my avatar
The Chopper is a really cool looking truck, I like the slim style "Lakes" side pipes and how they go all the way to rear wheels. Wonder what became of this truck?
I've always liked side pipes on slab side trucks. I plan to run a set on my D100-128 when I get it going again. Mine is being built push truck style, side pipes, spotlights, deep tow truck style front bumper; bed hoop with 5' whip antennas, KC lights and wrecker light bar. 31-10.5-15 front and 33-12.5-15 rear tires on either kidney bean or Halibrand style rims.
Have to get off my lazy butt and get the 318/727 yanked and the 413/727 installed. 318 is cute but kinda wimpy, and I'm sick of dealing with a rear mount dizzy. If I wanted headaches doing tune-ups I'd have a Chebby. Actually have a 85 C10 short wide but I refuse to drive it, 4.3L V6.
