rack for 62 D200

I'm thinking about fabricating a lumber/steel rack for my 62 3/4 ton. I'd like to make it "period correct" if that even applies. Was there ever any factory option for a rack? If so, does anyone have any pic's? I suppose most of them were either custom or more of a generic square steel tube construction, just thought it'd be cool to do something a little different. I'd like it to cantilever out over the cab and be able to haul 20' material. Any ideas?
