A few questions, regarding the stock steering column: 1) it has a grinding noise coming from the actual column shaft could the shaft be bent? 2) how interchangeable are the mopar family steering columns between cars and trucks? 3) like to get some input on those that have tried it or the viability o...

Re: Paint dip

It is really not hard to paint a whole truck , even custom paint jobs are fairly easy, the cost of mine was less than $500 , that was a gallon of base coat metallic, then a coat of pearl and clear coat with hardener and fish eye remover and flow enhancer. all at TCP global , i painted a whole truck ...

yeah I saw that episode also and the show was called Fantom works they are located in Norfolk Virginia. I wonder where they got the pop up filler cap from as it did not seem like something they made in the shop. it was a nice clean set up. I too am looking to relocate my fuel tank because I'm tired...

Re: Changing Wheels (Maybe)

Nice. How's that affect your straight-line driving? I've heard nasty rumors that running wider tires like that on these trucks can really make your truck wander on the road. I had 235/75r16's on it before. The new tires actually track a little better. It's a little harder turning the wheel at very ...

Re: New wheels, strange vibration. Please help.

Hello all. I just installed new aftermarket wheels on my 1965 D200 and I have a question. When I'm driving down the road between 35-45mph I get a vibration that wasn't there before. I just had all 4 wheels rebalanced (after 1 day) and this improved it,(now it vibrates between 30-35) but did not eli...

Re: New wheels, strange vibration. Please help.

i had the same problem please check your drive shaft, the difference in the diameter of the wheels might increase the stress on an already well worn drive shaft , in my case it was a worn spline on the yoke, something I would have never thought of since the universals were ok, my old truck was a 70....

Re: well i picked up my sweptie

Analogy: Engines of the swept era were designed to run on "0ld" leaded gas. Using "new" unleaded gas eats up the valve seats and destroys them. actually according to my automotive machinist , Mopar guy for 40 years, he says that some seats burn and some dont I use a led additive but not all the tim...
