Re: Question - Odd Sound

having had many old trucks , the thing that gets over looked is the play in the yoke splines, i had the same noise but with much vibration mainly due to a broken steady bearing frame brace but once that was welded the noise was still there i took the driveshaft out and had it serviced at a drive lin...

Re: Front End

actually based on your question , i am thinking you need to get a propane torch , heat the nut not the bolt use or penetrating fluid, a socket with less points will give you a better grip or a box end wrench, if it does not brake loose twist the bold right off the nut. I'll be doing the same soon , ...

Re: Drive Shaft Phasing

it could also be that the drive shaft has a normal wear pattern , and if the angle is changed the normal wear pattern is no longer normal , but abe normal , muhahahaha, I did a drive shaft on my truck , so many times in and out read and looking videos , finally went to pats driveline , found the spl...

Re: intake manifold

I have a similar manifold on my stock 318 poly. I am running a stock Carter 3247s manual choke. It runs great and still has that low end torque that these engines are famous for. There is a good rebuildable core on E-bay for $80 bucks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-62-Plymouth-Belvedere-318-Carter-A...

Re: intake manifold

You'll need a WCFB because of the throttle hole size. Or use an adapter to match the different sizes. I run a Q-jet or thermoguad, can't recall which, with an adapter on my stock poly manifold. Edit: "Chrysler used the WCFB in 1955 to 1958 when they switch to the Carter AFB, 4 barrel." What about h...

Re: intake manifold

I have the same manifold on the 318 Poly in my 64 Town Wagon, it has an adaptor similar to http://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd-2064 , this will allow the use of most modern 4 barrel carbs (holley, edlebroc, etc.). For a stock 318 I would reccomend keeping the carb between 500 - 600CFM. Good Luck ...

Next to impossible to get a pipe to the back on the left side, due to starter, steering box, crossmember and pto driveline. Not sure why this would be so hard. I ran dual exhaust on my 66W100 with the factory installed Braden PTO winch for the better part of 20 years before restoration and having a...

Re: stock poly exhaust ?

Well my LA318 is routed in a similar fashion.. Not quite sure what you're asking but if it's just "what's the purpose?" I think it's mostly to leave clearance for the oil pan yeah , never seen a set up like this on any of my other mopars, in all the years I had mopars. the oil pan is dead center th...

stock poly exhaust ?

So a question maybe someone has the similar routing of the two down pipes coming from the exhaust manifolds on the poly 318, driverside exits going downward and wraps around the front of the motor under the front crank pulley and towards the passenger side downpipe , then the collector for both is o...
