Mopar Electronic Ignition Kit for 318 Poly (1961 D100)

I have a 1961 D100 with 318 poly, standard transmission, and original distribution with points. I purchased a Mopar Electronic Ignition Kit from Mancini Racing (http://www.manciniracing.com/) a couple year ago based on the discussion with them it would work for a 318 poly (A engine). I am just getti...

Oil on exhaust manifold

On the passenger side there is oil around the outside of the spark plug are and oil on the exhaust manifold. I replaced the valve cover gaskets, but should really get in ther and clean the area out to see where the oil is coming from. Is there any chance that I have a bad head gaske? Thanks.

Re: 63 D100 Poly 318 - No damper, how to check timing?...

On the pulley there is a line with a circle at the end. They looked stamped into the pulley. I could not figure out how to time it either and was not sure what I was looking for, but the marks are there. They are towards the inside of the pulley on the engine side. Let me know if you need a photo.

Re: Electronic Ignition for 1961 Poly Engine

Txas2step that looks like a pretty good deal. What make of distributor is with that kit. I have been looking at mopar performance setup kit since I am not sure what condition the original dizzy is in. Would you recommend this kit offer the mopar performance? Thanks.

Re: 318 Poly Stromberg Alternative

How can I tell what model I have? It is definitely a Stromberg, but in the 1960 and 1961 repair manuals it calls out ww3s. The diagram shows a choke piston, which I do not have and I assume is for an automatic choke. I have a 3 speed manual. Where can I get a rebuild kit from? I do see an id number ...

Re: timing mark 61 poly

Kaegi can you post a picture of the mark you found on the pulley ? I have 1961 poly and need to locate the marking as well. Would be great to know what I need to look for.

318 Poly Stromberg Alternative

I have 1961 318 poly with 2 barrel Stromberg based on my review of 1961 repair manual. I can not adjust idle mixture at all and think the carb may need a rebuild. Are these worth having rebuilt or dyi? Are there any good alternatives for a 2 barrel since a poly intake is pretty expensive. Any info w...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 1961 Poly Engine

Any recommendations on where to purchase the setup or a knowledgeable vendor to contact to confirm compatibility? Sounds like you can not purchase directly from Mopar Performance anymore. Thanks.

Electronic Ignition for 1961 Poly Engine

I have a 1961 D100 with a 318 poly engine and assuming factory distributor (the body is aluminum with a 1838505 id number on it). I have read that the Pertronix may or may not work in a 318 poly distributor is that true? If that is the case do I purchase a used or after market distributor for a late...

Re: Cluth Over-Center Spring Adjustment

Bench bled the clutch and brake master cylinders and rest of the systems with the help of my 8 yr old daughter. Clutch works much better now, just need to reinstall the over-center spring since I removed and lube the whole pedal assembly.

Got the brake lights working again. Replaced old and corroded wires going from the wire terminal to the switch. Guess you don't move forward without trying.

Re: 1961 D100 Brake Light Issue

No brake lights when I connect the 2 wires. I think I have a bad ground or power wire. I am going to try to go from the battery to the brake switch with a known ground and power to see if I can eliminate the switch being the problem, I should replace at some point anyways. Everything was working bef...

1961 D100 Brake Light Issue

Brake lights worked prior to replacing master cylinder. I replaced my master brake clyinder and took off the brake light switch from the old unit. Got the master clyinder back on and bled the system. Plugged in the wires and it did not work. Replaced end connectors and still did not work. Unrolled t...

Cluth Over-Center Spring Adjustment

I have a 1961 D100 318 with 3 speed on the column. I have replaced the master clutch cylinder and slave cylinder. I am having issues with the clutch pedal not returning. With the center hub in the cab off I can see that the slave cylinder is operating when I depress the clutch and moving the fork on...

Door Latch Adjustment - 1961 D100

Is there a way to adjust the door latching mechanism? Both doors latch and lock, hinges are solid, and gapping around the doord are good. The passenger side seems to pull in 1/4" too much and the driver's side will latch, but the door will still move in/out. I was wondering if there was a way to adj...
