Re: D300 w Sweptline Bed
D300's have bulkier fender flares up front. That and the gap between the bed and cab are the downsides of putting a sweptline bed on a d300. The back fender flares don't match the front d300 flares. They're smaller like d200's... And I guess all my images are reversed from the order I wanted them t...

Re: All Mopar disc brake conversion
May I ask what the big difference is between Disk and Drum? Here is an article that discusses the difference between drum and disc brakes: http://www.edmunds.com/car-technology/brakes-drum-vs-disc.html Here is a quote from the article: "Braking involves turning kinetic energy (wheel movement) into ...

Re: All Mopar disc brake conversion
Just watched the videos on Ram Man's website. He mentions D100 and D200, but not the D300.
Anyone know if this kit will work on a 300? Thanks

Pwrwgndrvr, do you have the pieces to assemble what I'm trying to put together? Namely, a D300 cab, and a D100 or D200 chassis with a Sweptline bed?

Re: To D, Or Not To D
Yes, my attraction to the D300 is purely an aesthetic one. I want the beefy looking cab. If i could put that on a D200 frame, that would probably solve a lot of headache. The only thing Id lose that i liked would be the duallies, but I would probably live. The Reno truck I was gonna try to offer 1000.

Re: To D, Or Not To D
And thank you guys for the great info and insight. I think I will take on the challenge of improving the truck's streetability while recognizing it will always be a 1 ton truck and compromises and a balance will need to be struck. Pwrwgndrvr, do you do any contract restoration or consultation work? ...

Okay, okay, you guys talked me into it. :-)
I'm thinking about this as my jumping off point: http://reno.craigslist.org/cto/5046524910.html
It looks like the hood is from the earlier model.
I like the ram bar in the front.

To D, Or Not To D
I am considering a D300 for hot rod type project. I am more interested in driveability and speed than low end torque for 4x4ing or hauling. Is D300 a bad choice off the top? With a big block motor, right transmission and rear end, can they be built for speed? I also want P/S and P/B, custom wheels. ...

Re: D300 w Sweptline Bed
This is not mine, some old farmers. I asked him to sell it to me but he wouldn't. Lol I did not realize it was not a factory combo. It is actually a dump truck, so I thought the gap was for the bed to clear the cab. So did any D300s (1961-1971) come factory with a Sweptlineline bed? Is it possible t...
