68 D200Wheel Covers for 16.5 inch Stock Wheels

I found a set of 16.5 wheels, had them powder coated, and found a set of 16.5 inch Firestone Tires (Discount Tire here in AZ). Only thing I'm missing are the wheel covers. Anyone had any luck sourcing suitable covers that look like stock?

Pics of what was on there and what is on now...

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Stock Wheel Search for 68 D200

I actually found a set of steel 16.5 inch wheels at Desert Valley Auto Parts here in Phoenix. Very nice shape and bought all 4 for 100 dollars...already found new radial tires for them, just waiting for the powder coating folks to clean up the wheels...now to find some wheel covers to fit....

Stock Wheel Search for 68 D200

We are looking to replace the rusted chrome aftermarket wheels on our D200 with stock 16 inch steel wheels. We live close to Desert Valley Auto Parts here in Phoenix, so we can look there if a new stock wheel can't be found. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Re: Paint Name and Code for Our D200

Thanks for the info, I agree, looks like Turf Green. Just was curious what color it was. We are not repainting it, probably going to just clean it up a bit and clear it like the Fast and Loud folks did to one of their trucks last year....my wife likes the patina look...

Paint Name and Code for Our D200

Good Afternoon, I purchased a 1968 D200 for my wife a couple of months ago, and we have been trying to come up with the paint color name and code with no luck. All the colors on the 68 Dodge truck paint colors we have found are way off. It is sort of a mint green as best I can describe it. I've seen...

Re: Correct Starter for 68 D200

The starter with the solenoid on top will not fit, and I have struck out with both NAPA and Autozone.

I'm going to find a good electrical repair shop and have this one reconditioned....thanks...

Correct Starter for 68 D200

I am having a hard time finding a starter for my truck, 383, 4 speed. NAPA has ordered the "correct" one twice and both times the solenoid is on the top instead of on the side of the motor housing when installed. Anyone have a good source for the correct starter?

Thanks,

Yeah, should probably find that out first...I'm fairly certain that the stock rear end is still in the truck...so guess I'll do some research! Thanks...

68 D200 with 383 4 Speed, Overdrive Recommendations

After driving this truck for about 2 weeks, with the 383 its pretty much 2nd to 4th and thats all I need. The granny gear 1st is pretty impressive if pulling stumps...since the truck is actually for my wife (she has always wanted an old Mopar truck), I am considering making it a bit more highway fri...

Re: Gauge Rebuilding

Thanks, Almost all of the Mopar gauges from 1960 to 1974 use the thermo mechanical principle of a bimetal strip wrapped with insulated nichrome wire. The nichrome wire heats up based on a 5V input and variable resistance input from the sending unit. For the temp gauge, 32 ohms equals about 170 degre...

Gauge Rebuilding

I have a small side business restoring 60-74 Mopar instrument clusters. Since I now own a 68 D200 as of Tuesday, I'm sure I will be looking at the condition and calibration of those gauges. If anyone else needs help, please feel free to message me...

Thanks,

New 68 D200 Owner

I bought my wife a 68 D200 last week from a guy in San Diego. Mostly original, 383, 4 speed. Has a 4Bbl manifold and carb, and aftermarket wheels. Will be asking alot of questions as we fix some minor items on the truck. I also own both a 66 and 67 Charger.... Thanks! Mark and Melissa Gibson Litchfi...
