Re: 1987 NP435 in '61 D100

My 1966 w-200 has the original 435D3 4-speed manual. Length of gear is 9" long overall from base to nose coming out of trans. 4" long from nose to 1o spline gear, is round 3/4" diameter, this end goes in pilot bearing. 10 spline gear is 1' O.D. Note: I have pulled this type of trans out of my 67 GMC...

Thanks for the response. I torqued to 70lbs which was about in the middle of the spec I found. Should be fine.

Flywheel 66 W-200

Looking at the shop manual I do not see a torque spec for the bolts attaching the flywheel to the crank. Motor is 318 Poly with a 435D3 4-speed Manual trans.General information from another auto related book states that a 1/2 inch bolt should be torqued between 55 to 80 LBS. Is there a actual spec. ...

Re: Seat swap

I am quite positive that it would work, cabs have same dimensions. My 1966 Dodge W-200 accepted a rear seat from a 1968 D-200 extra cab, bolted up fine other then the fact that the factory seat attachment points were broken loose and need to be re- welded, something to check? The rear seat of a extr...

Thanks I appreciate your help. I take it the width is the same inside rail to rail since cab width is the same?

Longbed sweptside demensions

Are the inside bed rail measurements on a sweptside box the same on a 1961 - 1965 as my 1966 sweptside Powerwagon with both having a 8ft. box. I know the wheelbase changed from 122” to 128” and wondered if it changed box demensions. Thanks for the help

Re: E-Brake Cable Install

My W-200 never had the right rear cable so I had no idea where the to cable clamps attached, I will look for those attachment points that was pointed out in the last reply. The used replacement cable that I bought came from a Power Wagon with the clamps so I should see on the truck where they go? Th...

Re: motor mount replacement

Thank you for your help. I put them on the same way they came off. The double studs on the frame side are in slotted holes, back to front. Leave those slightly loose, when you lower the motor and tighten the single 3/4" nut on the engine side of the new motor mount it is sets the motor, at which poi...

motor mount replacement

I have a 1967 w-200 with a 318 poly motor. The old motor mounts had a flange turned up approximately 90 degrees away from the frame. On drivers side this flange was facing toward the front, on the passenger side it was facing toward the back. It looks like these flanges could face back or front, wha...

Re: whole lot of shakin going on

Thank you for the leads on the parts I need. The only confusing part is the install change as far as grinding down the stud on the upper bearing cap to allow for the tapered roller bearing placement. If the two bearing are the same?, grinding the stud is the only solution. I only had .038 of shims t...

Re: parts truck stories

That to me is the fun part of working and owning these old rigs, you get to look for parts rigs or scavenge parts wherever their found. Then you get to install them making your ride better and better. I've been working on vehicles 45yrs approx. It's fun and frustrating, all depends. :thinking

Re: whole lot of shakin going on

Thank you for the info. Went to 3 parts stores in town with no luck. Looking at the 2011-2012 Vintage Power Wagon catalog I see a exploded typical parts view. I will call them on Tuesday and 4-wheel parts supply. Tried downsizing picture of my truck to post by cropping, putting in zip folder, no go....

Re: whole lot of shakin going on

I disassembled the steering knuckle assembly on my titled 67 w-200. In a earlier post it mentioned that the upper bearing (bronze cone) and upper bearing cup could be suspect as a cause for my wheel play, that is the case. The previous owner ground down the upper bearing cap stud to install a bearin...
