Re: wing vent seal

OK I did it. I used permatex 60 sec epoxy. Its a 2 part epoxy that drys in 60 sec and has full hold in 4 hours. Looks good. you cant tell its glued in instead of riveted. I will let you know how it holds up this summer. I cant imagine it letting loose. I cleaned the rubber and metal wing post very g...

Re: 1966 D100 Sweptline Driver door latch assembly

my flat bar would fall off easy when door was shut. I found out that my clip was a little bent out of shape over the years. After some needle nose and plier work, the clip is firmer fitting and bar has stayed on. If it falls in the bottom of the door get a long handled magnet to get it out.

wing vent seal

well after searching all topics on how to replace a wing vent seal, Im going true red neck. Everyone says how much of a pain it is to tear into the door and remove the vent assembly. I dont have to replace the triangle seals, just the vertical post seal. All Im going to do is pop off the old ones, g...

I also have a easy button in my shop. Its tradition to press it when a job is done, easy or not. I want to invent another model that says " that was a pain in the @#%" for those not to easy jobs. I bet I could make a fortune.

Re: Body bushings

YOu can use newer mounts for 72 and up trucks but must modify hole slightly. I think I had to make a slight recess in the hole. There is a topic on it, I read it on this forum. I put them on my truck, all of our 40 plus year old trucks can use new body mounts. My bed wooden spacers were also bad, so...

One nice think is it only takes 3 bolts to pull the column out. Really no big deal.

Re: trun signal switch, how to feed wire down column

Well, there is no way to snake a turn signal switch wiring harness down the steering column with steering shaft still in the way. I pulled the column, then tied a string to the end of the old harness so when I pulled it out, I could tie string to new harness to pull it back down through. It was a li...

Re: Rubber Cab mounts

you can use the newer 72 and up models also but must redrill the hole. there is a post here that talks about it. I did it on a new polyurathane set and it worked well.

trun signal switch, how to feed wire down column

I rebuilt a turn sig. switch for my 65 D100, now, what is the easiest way to fish the wires down the column for re install??? Do I have to take the steering column out of the truck?? Any tricks to do this without removal of the steering column.

Thanks.

Re: Bypass voltmeter

not hard to do and it takes weak link out of system ( amp guage ) also makes your head lights not dim when at low RPM. As you have a direct wire going from positive to alternator.

Very good upgrade.

Can you get these new anywhere? I notice vintage power wagon has the whole latch assembly rebuilt but its over $300, thats half what I paid for the whole darn truck! All I need is the star wheels, typical wear, doors not closing as tight as should, ect.....

Re: starter relay

OK, Wiring diagrams show this 2nd spade to be a ground. I think Im going to use it, wire it to my pig tale on the negative battery cable that is not in use. This will ensure that if mounting bolts on starter relay get loose, or rusty, makes no difference as I have a wired in ground. Price of the sin...

Got a starter relay from the parts store and it has 2 spades instead of 1 spade. Book says that 65 and newer used the 2 spade starter relay. am I right in thinking that the 2nd spade is a ground? Would I be able to just cut this spade out and use it as a one spade starter relay?? Should I make a gro...
