Re: Post up a picture of your Crew Cab....

I chose to go with putting the running gear on the 68 frame. Not sure if that was the right way to go or not!?!?! Had to fab mounts for Engine, Trans etc. I just felt that was less of an evil (for me) than trying to get body panels to line up and work. I read a bunch before taking the plunge and for...

Re: Post up a picture of your Crew Cab....

LOL !!! The plan is to drive it through the summer and then back to it this winter. We'll see how that plan comes together. Got under dash air to go in it at some point this summer. What did you do on your steering?

Re: Post up a picture of your Crew Cab....

Well............It's been a while since posting any pictures. But I have finally gotten something worth showing. 89 Cummins drive train with an OD trans upgrade in my 68 Camper Special. Just got it on the road and driving. Everything seems to be good except finalizing the steering. Stoney

Re: Need a picture of oil gauge fitting

I had a leak on the other end of this one also. I went to the local auto parts and all we could come up with was a bunch of bastardized fittings and now it drips on my shoe instead of on the engine block !!! LOL !!! I hope you have better luck than I.

I am putting a 440 in it and planning to dress it as an HPP clone. I was thinking red but unsure of what it needs ...

Re: Hubcaps

Sorry for the delay in reply. This would be for a 1/2 ton short bed. I was unsure if they would be full wheel covers or not.

Thanks

Re: Post up a picture of your Crew Cab....

Here's a picture of a future Cummins project. I have a 89 4x4 donor truck for it. Currently she runs and drives and is happy taking the Golden Retrievers to the creek for a weekly swim. Will get around to the swap after a couple of other projects are finished.

Re: Latest Additions

The 67 is a pretty clean truck. Some rot in the DS floor but nothing real bad. It has a very clean short box on it which I was looking to use as a donor for a 66 CSS project of which the bed is not very good. From what I have read the 6 cyl is a one year only casting (not sure why) and has been prof...

Re: CSS Dilemma

My intent regardless of the engine will be to retore it back to the factory look. The only thing anyone would see not standard for 1966 would be in the engine compartment. The Shorty is a dash shift auto so that will work well with the 440. For those that are unfamiliar with the D200 it left the ass...

Alright Guys I need some input !!! I've got two (2) 1966 CSS trucks I am planning on using to making one. One is the D200 Bubba Storey had and the second is a D100 Short Wide Box I found.
