Re: transmission mount

Make sure you measure the c/l to c/l on your cross member , I found out the hard way one set of centerlines on the mount is wider than the other , they both fit the 727 but not the crossmember. By the way that is the right mount. (the flat one) BigG

Re: Electric fan wiring

I went into www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/efaninstall.htm and it was very helpful. I have a large used fan ( came w/ all the stuff) installed to push from the front. The instructions say it is critical that the fuse is located as close to your +12v source as possible, what it does not say is the probe shou...

Re: motor mounts

I have installed a 1979 440 M/H motor in my 66. After MUCH confusion I decided to use the original steel mounts and turn the new rubber mounts upside down. This left the single stud facing down. Then after careful measuring and making sure I had the motor where I wanted it ,I marked and drilled a ne...

Re: Replacing Motor Mounts

I replaced the motor mounts on my 1966 d100 w/ 1979 440 engine yesterday. After trying several different opitions , I ended up loosening the two bolts on the automatic trans and all the bolts on the rubber and steel (on the engine) mounts. I then used 2 wooden 2x4s about 12" long and two bottle jack...

Front axle

Does anyone know if a D100/1501966 front axel interchange with a 1970d100/150 front axel? My Hollander has different #s for these. They look the same but is the width and mounting the same? ? Will the 70 bolt right up to a 66? BigG

Re: 440 Headers

My headers are Hedman # 79220, they are the only ones that would clear my old crossmember which is part of the front spring supports. They dump out under the supports. ( My 66 crossmember is cut off next to the spring supports to make room for the 727) I added a basic flat 1968 crossmember to bolt u...
