Re: Trailer Suggestions
Thanks Patrick, That's a lot of good information. I was looking at 7k trailers just because of cost. I know that the trailer value, even with being driven between WA and AK increases significantly, so I wouldn't have trouble getting rid of it if I didn't like it. I am just afraid that pushing the GV...

Re: Trailer Suggestions
How well do the tire straps work? Or should I just stick with chains?

Re: Trailer Suggestions
Thanks for the 4pt info. I had planned on strapping it down with 4 points anyways. I wish I could take it to a scale, however, it is not running, and the brake system is torn out of it, so a scale isnt an option. I think I will probably just go with a 10k trailer then, 18-20ft. When attaching the ch...

Trailer Suggestions
I am getting ready to move from WA to AK and making the drive up the ALCAN. I have to tow my 69 D200 (converted to 4wd) and am looking at buying a flatbed trailer to tow it up there on. I have searched over 100 pages of results in the search function on various topics, but cannot find any informatio...

Re: Steel Brake Line Help
Where would I get lines? Would I just buy some at the local auto parts store, cut it to length, bend it, and flare it?

Steel Brake Line Help
Well, I was in the process of taking the master cylinder off of the brake booster, and managed to snap 2 of the 3 brake lines. Is there any way to fix this, or am I going to need to get entirely new steel hoses? They both broke right at the seating bolt that connect to the master cylinder. Any help ...

Re: New to me 69 Camper Special
We are hoping it will be a great project. Unfortunately all our money and free time is getting dumped into new flooring in the house and clearing our land. Hopefully soon I will be able to start tearing into it. We just have to get the brakes working, get the steering tight, and get a new carb, and ...

Re: New to me 69 Camper Special
Yeah, I just went back out to the truck, I think you all are right, it does look like the 68 hood. I have a couple pictures attached as well. Where would be a good source to pick up a 69 hood?

Re: New to me 69 Camper Special
Just so everyone knows, that hood is open. It normally sits about 2 inches lower and flush with everything else. It has the original paint color on it as well, so unless it was damaged well before it got its next paint job, I think it is original. Like I said though, the hood isnt shut. Upon further...

Re: New to me 69 Camper Special
Oops, I thought I had read WA not IA...Des Moines WA is only about an hour from where I bought the truck...my mistake. Went to the registry, it is a 69' D200 Camper Special.

Re: New to me 69 Camper Special
As far as I know the hood is the original, though I dont know the difference between them. The trim is actually sitting in the bed of the truck at the moment. You probably have seen this truck on craigslist, being from Des Moines. We got it recently from a guy up in Carnation, by Redmond. Had to tra...

Re: New to me 69 Camper Special
Well, right now, I know for sure I am going to need a new grille and a new floor pan, is there a good website that I can order parts on? I can't figure out how to post a picture from my computer right now, I will have to play with it.

New to me 69 Camper Special
Hey Everyone, I just wanted to post on here, and hopefully get some future advice and information. My wife and I have been interested in "restoring" an older vehicle. I am a MOPAR guy, so when I saw an old 69 383 Camper special for sale we picked it up. It is in generally good condition, though it n...
