Re: Body by Dodge. Power by Jag?
Many years ago, I helped my Dad stuff (literally) a 4-53 Detroit diesel along with an Allison 5 speed tranny in a 65 Dodge 3/4 ton 2WD. His last diesel project was putting a 3-53 Detroit in a 73 Chevy 4WD PU, and hooking it to the 400 auto tranny. He drove this truck from here to CA a couple of tim...

Re: Hood alignment?
I ended up having to shim the bolts. It's still not perfect, but it is within 3/8 of an inch now. To shim anymore, I'll have to get longer bolts.

Hood alignment?
OK, I bought my Sweptline, and the back of the hood is sticking up about 3/4". 1st thing I did was to check, and the hinges are as low as they go. How do you adjust this out?

Re: Body by Dodge. Power by Jag?
Many years ago, I helped my Dad stuff (literally) a 4-53 Detroit diesel along with an Allison 5 speed tranny in a 65 Dodge 3/4 ton 2WD. 1st job was beefing up the front springs by almost doubling the amount of leaves. We had to cut a "scoop" in the hood to clear the top of the motor. Even put air ov...

Re: My find
The old parts truck is just about shot. It was used as a farm truck until about three years ago when the ring gear blew. It has a 318 and a three speed. The motor is free, but I don't know what shape it's in. Too many parts taken off. The grill is bad, but the front clip is Ok except for a dent on t...

My find
I bought this off a friend of mine, and gave $500 for it and a parts truck. It's a 1970 D100 with the four speed. The truck has 88,000 miles, and I am the 3rd owner.

Changing to electronic ignition
I just bought a 1970 D100. It has the 318 four speed, and I would like to change it over to electronic ignition. I've done this on other makes, but never a Dodge. What does it entail?
