Re: So I won the battle with the big piece of steel
Yokohama sells a good one. John http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&code=yes&partnum=175R75TY303A&KEYWORD=tires.jsp_Yokohama_Super_Steel_TY303A_Tire&tireModel=Super+Steel+TY303A&GCID=C13674x012-tire Ouch, they sure don't come cheap. Seems like 215/75R17.5 is the tallest size a...

Re: So I won the battle with the big piece of steel
I actually have 17.5x5.5" (white, not body color) wheels on my Power Wagon. This may be off topic but is there any hope in hell at all of getting new tires that will fit at all anywhere? I want to keep the wheels but the tires are shot.

Re: Vermont Salvage Yard
Cool finds! The white one looks like it used to have Power Wagon emblems on the hood. It is a Power Wagon. It's just sunk into the ground over it's axles. Bumpers! :dance I was under the impression only factory rear bumpers were worth anything, and none of them had one. There was at least one reaso...

Vermont Salvage Yard
I went to a salvage yard in Vermont that keeps some old stuff most yards would crush; The first thing I noticed was this little gem; Swept_04.jpg The (short/narrow) bed is in perfect shape; Swept_05.jpg This was toast. Didn't even bother taking a picture of the back, it was smashed and rotten into t...

Re: Rifles? Any gun owners on the forum?
An M14, as I know it, is the U.S. Military select fire 7.62x51 service rifle. Are you saying you own one of these or do you mean the civilian version of the U.S. Military M14, which is the M1A? Or perhaps something completely different..... :thinking John John, it is a Chinese made semi-auto only v...

Re: Rifles? Any gun owners on the forum?
One other thing I thought of was that I've heard Americans can't buy Chinese firearms like Norincos. I may be wrong though and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am. Its to bad because they are great for new shooters, they are decent guns (not great) and for under $300 for a full size 1911 they ...

Re: Rifles? Any gun owners on the forum?
My bad on the AR15. I thought it was a full auto rifle for some reason. Even so, a lot of semi autos are prohibited for nothing other than being based on a full auto design, like the aforementioned AK-47. Recently a certain .22 caliber rifle was banned/confiscated from Canadian owners by the RCMP fo...

Hahaha! I didn't know you could buy new rifles for that price! Guy that deals with surplus here sells new SKSs for $190. My mother bought her youngest a single shot .22/410 (interchangeable barrels) and it cost something like $140.

Re: Rifles? Any gun owners on the forum?
Nice! The AK47 and AR15 would be illegal here, though. I originally went to buy an SKS but got the M14 instead  . I was going to get a new Chinese SKS but he had a really nice later Russian one (chromed bore) for less. I like the Russian bayonet. Nobody gets shot breaking into a house in Canada...

Re: Rifles? Any gun owners on the forum?
I wouldn't recommend posting on the WORLD WIDE WEB for ALL TO SEE, what you may or may not own. Why? I'm a member of CanadianGunNutz and people post pictures there, it's well documented that the anti-gun lobby sends "spies" to the site. Yeah... you already talked about "Big brother" Well... maybe h...

Springtime! That means hitting the trails with the truck (the S10 for now, ha) and the range with with my rifles. Anyone else do any recreational target shooting (or hunting)? I'm from the good 'ol People's Republic of Canukistan, so nothing crazy, I've got a Browning X-Bolt Composite Stalker I pick...

Re: Lifting the front end wihout alot of $?
My 68 tucks away 35s pretty tightly, even with the flat front springs. Going to swap the front springs and trim the fenders for when I get 37s. I think your truck illustrates best the fender clearance of our trucks. My truck is definately higher than yours so I should be able to run 35s no problem....

Re: photo for Magnumcid
magnum, here is the tire info i have. LT265/75R16 M+S. and on the other side it has this number sequence 2286-035. if someone can understand that number sequence please let me know. No idea but a 265/75/16 tire does not translate to 35". It is maybe a 31-32". I have 31s on my S-10. Also, your truck...

okay soopernaut, i was just under my PW and maybe it seems like its lifted cuz i have 35s on 16 rims. but looking at the photos. it looks like his springs are under the axle. I've been trying to figure out if I can stuff that wheel/tire combo under my '67 W200 ever since I got it. Might play it saf...

Very excited about the election results. Goodbye long gun registry! Goodbye Liberals and Bloc Quebecois! NDP is the new Quebec party? Whatever. We have a Conservative majority!
