Re: What size slant six ?

If you have the short heater hose in front of the engine on top of the water pump connection, about a 2 inch hose then you have a 170,but if the hose is about 4 or 5 inches long, then you have the 225 engine

Re: W300 split rims

If you do keep the old wheels keep on eye on the tire guy that mounts it that he don't dent up your snap rings. Some go over board with the sledge hammer. With the old wheels ,besides the tire, you also need the flap and tube. That's what I like about tubeless wheels and tires, less things you have to ...

Re: W300 split rims

You can hunt around in the truck junkyards for replacements, have stockton wheel make them for you(pricey) or just get some good new quality tires for the two piece split rims and run them. Big rig tire shops will work on them still. The Goodyear shop here will work on them. Don't try and mont them y...

I've seen yellow as the original color for the slant six truck engine. I have also heard that the color that dissipates heat the best is black.

Re: No brakes/tail or dash lights

Believe it or not,it was that both the light bulb's brake function part had went out. I installed new bulbs and brakes are working again. I think all the moisture from the rain had shorted them both out at the same time. Weird though.

Re: Conversion from single pot to dual pot brake master

That happened to me one time,I was on a hill in the driveway and the truck rolled onto the street.Luckily no cars were coming.Scary moment. The conversion should be easy, but not all the threads on the junction box are the same size, you'll need an adapter for one of them. The rear brake line scews int...

Re: permanently seal, close the cowl cover vents?

Another option is sealing it up completely, but getting an extra cowl from the junk yard in case you want to install it for the hot summer months. A junkyard cowl shouldn't be expensive and they are still available, maybe a few years from now they might not be .
