another frame swap question
i searched and i searched......having trouble finding articles on using a mid 70's front clip on earlier trucks.(61-71).... info and pics would be nice.....i was just about to do the aspen swap when i scored a deal on a 75 d100...need to find out which is best.......thanks !!!

thanks for all the info.........i ordered a set for a volare/aspen, they should work fine.......i made a trans crossmember out of inch and a half tube and made a bend on each side for the exhaust..came out pretty slick.

when i get the volare clip done on my 61 and get the 360 all bolted in, do i use car or truck headers ???...i know it sounds like a dumb question, but.............

i have a complete donor car with working a/c, so brackets,pulleys,etc are no problem....and it is a factory set-up, not aftermarket.......i'm going to tear the yorker apart next week and will know more about the a/c unit then ...it should fit under my dash, i don't have a 4 speed shifter in the way ...

...forgot to mention i am running a 360/727 now. the newyorker has the factory a/c unit under the dash, and i have no idea if it will even fit under the dash of my 61......was hoping someone here has done it or something similar. thanks for the reply.

just got a donor car, 80 newport....has a good working a/c unit and was wondering if it will somehow work in my 61 D100....it all mounts under the dash (except compressor of course) ..........also going to use the fuel tank, tilt column, power seat, power antenna.....and scored a diplomat front susp...

it was hitting bottom for sure....i was also using the same bearings....well today i got out the chop saw and fixed my problem. whacked 1/4" off the end and beveled it, and cleaned up the splines. worked out perfect. took it on a little road trip and all is well. thanks for all the replies.

thanks for the replies............i did'nt swap the axles side to side.........and the axles in those diagrams are way different in length, i'm only off by just under 1/4 inch.....both 3rd's came out of the same year trucks, both 741 cases...and the pass side fit perfect...can i carefully cut the 1/...

just took the 3.91 geared 741 case out of my 61 (63 axle).....installed the 3.55 geared 741 case and all was going great until i got the driver side axle slid in and it bottoms out with 1/4" to go !!! both diffs open, non posi units..the pass side went in no problem..i've swapped a ton of these arou...

well, got the darn things out....had to change the electrical in both and now everything works great !!!....the thing only sat for 20 years !!.........ok, now for the info on how they come out..there is are 3 clips that need to be released in order to remove the bucket, BUT...there is no way to do t...

i don't know if it's just rusted in or what !! i thought it should just pull out after the lense was unscrewed, but even the one on my parts truck does'nt seem to want to move either. i don't want to bend it all up.......maybe i'll try some wd-40 and see what happens.. :thinking .....thanks for the ...

tail light buckets
i have a 63 swept bed on my 61.....the tail light bucket is messed up on the pass side......how in the hell do these things come out ??!!?? (yes i checked the forums first and found no info??)...frustrated, please help

ok, in all fairness to the women, i did see an "on-off" switch on that panel after i put my damn glasses on......BUT, i bet the thing 'aint even hooked up....it's just there to fool us !!!!!!
