Re: Grandpa's 63' W100
Wow thats cool to see the work done to fit the longer wheelbase bed . Wonder when the work was done...neat part of the trucks history. I always thought it was no coincidence that in 65 Dodge lengthened the trucks wheelbase moving the wheelwell back on the sweptline sheetmetal as well doing just the ...

Re: Another Poly
Someone has put polyheads on a 340 block before. It took some work to the holes in the deck but it has been done. Kinda like a Chrysler Cleveland.

Re: Sweptline/Challenger combo
Heres that photo from Sweptline FB that someone took. Its a work in progress.... I think the roof needs chopped about 3 inches to make it work right. I'm trying to talk him into a late model Charger tail light molded in the rear pan. I'm not into this kind of stuff but hey the damage is already done...

Re: Sweptline/Challenger combo
Kool there is a Sweptline FB, thats awesome ! I actually passed his shop and the truck this morning, started to go take a picture but had Mopar work to do on my 62 dart sedan. Installed a 66-72 k member which sets the engine back 3 inches....A worthwhile improvement that I had done before on my old ...

Glad you are using that 4 speed behind your /6 in your 67......The truck that I had it in now has a Challenger front clip on it./ Belongs to a friend of mine, its posted in the pictures section that I commented on this morning.

Re: Poly lifter help
Yeah as stated above if they are mushroomed from wear you will ruin the bores for sure pulling them out the top. Push them out the bottom for sure . Adding some Marvel Mystery oil to the lifter valley and twisting lifter will help break down the baked on brown oil crud that sometimes keeps them stuc...

Re: Sweptline/Challenger combo
Its real, I used to own it...Pea green 64 short bed with /6 3 on the tree I bought out of Louisiana from an ad on Sweptline. I gave it to my friend James whos a Chrysler freak from way back.....He totalled his Plum Crazy Purple tubbed 71 D100 so I gave him that 64 and we dropped a 70 383 with 509 ca...

Re: wtf challenger nose
That was my old 64, I gave it to a Mopar nut friend o mine James after he totalled his Plum Crazy tubbed 71. We put a 70 383 with a 509 cam and a Hi stall road runner convertor in that truck with 3.55's out back and went mustang hunting....Next thing I know hes calling me asking if he can put a Chal...

Re: MY 61 DART D-100
Feels good to be back in the old truck, thinking of building a stock roller 88 up style shortblock . The motor in the truck is an original 68 318 out of a Belvedere. The only thing that has been changed since 68 is a fresh set of 88 302 casting heads along with a H.V. oil pump and roller chain to fr...

Re: Looks Good.......But!
Howdy, I have a 61 Dart truck as well and a 62 Dart sedan both were original with the polyhead . These motors were still called the Red Ram by Dodge in 61, 62 & 63.....Just thought I'd share that with you with the hope that you might leave the poly Red ! I have seen some of the poly red rams that ha...

Re: bostrum seats
Those are neat looking seats, I work on Gradall machines and they have a sprung Bostrum seat in the front cab, real comfy. I have the Dodge A-100 Bostrums mounted in my 61 with a folding console from a later Adventurer in between them. The seats are mounted on the van mounts and sit you up a bit hig...

Great looking rig...used to have a b5 blue 70 model camper special, 383/auto, 4.10 gears. 3.54's sure would have been nice to have, I'll bet you can move on down the road with those.

Good looking truck.....I got my 61 back from my brother , gave it to him 2 years ago, right after we had planned a trip to Lone Star show in Austin with the 61's. Not livin' in Baytown anymore, moved out to Spring but I still attend Church in Baytown there where the pumpkin patch is. You may see the...

Not a fan of the wheels or mirrors either but the truck looks clean. Lowering surely helped the wheels but I'm old school, I want some air between the road and my rim for some cushion.

Re: 440 cam
Flyin Brick, check with your cam lobe on the base circle ( No Lift Area) with a completely loose rocker shaft you should have no more than 1 to 1 1/2 turns on the rockershaft bolt after contact (Zero Lash ) as you are tightening rockershaft bolt. I actually prefer 3/4 turn after zero lash. You can u...
