i think those springs have been altered or are extremely tired, and i havent seen tired springs on the average sweptline - in my experience tired saggy springs are more of a chevy thing. my 69 d200 fronts arch noticeably while yours are beyond flat into negative arch. http://inlinethumb60.webshots.c...

Re: How to take apart rear brakes (D200 floating dana)??
i had a devil of a time getting mine. i knwo that mine are different from each other, one has two patterns of lugs (8 and 5) and the other doesnt; one came from SE USA and the other from somewhere in canada. i paid $200 for a pair of new ones.

Re: How to take apart rear brakes (D200 floating dana)??
i had trouble with the axle cones - they were mighty stuck. a flat chisel and a small hammer got them to budge - it was slow but steady. also, my rear studs were not swedged into the hub, but oh boy were the front ones. the rears came right out but the fronts put up the biggest fight in the universe.

http://sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=25766 holy hell, finally! i cant believe this isnt getting more attention really, frankly i'd like to know a lot more about it, like about turning the hubs and what year calipers/rotors work. if i had power disc brakes (and power steering somehow, so...

Re: airbags on front axle
i saw that slick, and i think it might be workable with the shocks (maybe). the steering knuckle looks problematic as well. i even went to the air ride site but i couldnt find the specific setup you used. do you remember any more about it? i've had the truck since 1996 and it was my daily driver unt...

Re: airbags on front axle

Re: Steering linkage for power steering
i'm interested in this one. the box does look like it sits a little close to the pump, and the shock absorber may present issue as well but it is an interesting idea.

Re: 69 D100 backyard find
nice looking truck. be worth it to bend the front bumper straight on that one.
whats going on in the reverse light area? something looks odd there, like the lites have been moved, replaced with something else, and stickers added? hard for me to tell.

Re: After all the cast iron 4bbl manifold is ready
i have a clutch fan and didnt have to move the radiator(?) i used a clutch fan from a late new yorker, bolted right on in place of the solid 4 blade fan. plenty of clearance, much more radical cooling at low speeds. i wonder why you have clearance problems? i used a little rtv on the water passages ...

Re: After all the cast iron 4bbl manifold is ready
i never could get my iron 4bbl manifold to work right on my LA, i think the issue was vacuum leaks between the head/manifold - no gasket seemed to work well and i tried them all (my theory is not proven, i really dont know why it never worked well). it did get perfectly clean in the hot tank, did yo...
