Re: Getting parts repop'd

Thanks Wally! I wanted to mention that special thanks goes out to sweptline.org member Mopat for hooking us up with the parts to get this project going. Without Pat's help I am sure my Sweptline ownership would have come to an end long ago.

Re: Getting parts repop'd

I would think someone could reproduce that clip. Tom at RT Specialties would be the guy to talk to about that project. So far only one reply on this...I see this forum is hopping. I wanted to let you guys know that I have a few sets of forward cab mount rubber pads cut and available for sale. PM me ...

Re: 1970 W100 Radiator P/N?

Do you guys know if a 26" radiator will fit in the same radiator support as the 22" that is currently in my truck?

1970 W100 Radiator P/N?

Hello,

The top radiator tank on my '70 W100 cracked last weekend and I am in search of a replacement core. Is there a place to reference p/n's for Sweptline era radiators? I have seen lots of info on cars but no list for trucks.

Thank you,

Jeremiah

Re: 16.5 divided by 16 equals OK.?

Unfortunately a friend of mine from high school found his father be-headed in the shop when 16" tire came off of a 16.5" rim during inflation. The hardest aspect of the tragedy was that his old man knew better however he was cheap, arrogant, and not a very good active listener. I think his friends a...

Re: What flywheel is used with bellhousing 2235714?

The truck I amworking on is a 1965 model with the hydro clutch. Somewhere along the way someone installed a later model flywheel in it. There was a very crude 1/2" (approx) spacer sandwiched in between the starter and bellhousing so I'm pretty sure that the flywheel is incorrect. Hopefully that clar...

Re: What flywheel is used with bellhousing 2235714?

The flywheel that I have is a 143 tooth model. The strange thing is that the bellhousing does not fit over the flywheel? Help!

Hello, I drove a '76 Valiant with a 360 based 408 year round in Wisconsin and IL for years. It had a 4-speed and 4.10's out back. Mopat directed me to this thread however I'm a in the middle of work right now. I'll answer your questions...stay tuned. The 408 is now slated to be installed in my '65 ...

Re: What flywheel is used with bellhousing 2235714?

Yes it does. I will count the teeth on te flywheel but I'm pretty sure it is a 143 tooth unit. What I am most interested in is the crank flange to ring gear depth. From my measurements I'm guessing there must be at least a plus-1/2" difference for the hydor bell.

Anyone have an opinion?

What flywheel is used with bellhousing 2235714?

Hello folks, I was wondering if anyone could tell me / show me the correct flywheel for a LA motor with a 2235714-1 bellhousing/ flywheel housing. I have a few here at the shop, one was on the truck and used a ~1/2" spacer on the starter so I assume it is from a later model than my '65 W100. I did f...

Re: 383

No the trucks 383 is not built like the 383, why? the 383 in the Roadrunner is a 383 HP you would have seen this on the stamp pad by the distributor. the difference is the 383 in the Roadrunner was a 335 horsepoer built motor, as opposed to the stock regular 383 in the truck is around 235 horsepowe...

Re: My 1965 Dodge (My first vehicle ever!)

That is decent looking truck. If you need any brake parts shoot me a PM. I just pulled the power brake stuff off of my '65 to convert it to a dual master cylinder. Also, look around the local salvage yards for speedometer and door parts. Take a pic of the motor without the air cleaner assy on it so ...

Re: Radiators

MoPat and I spent the afternoon mocking up a 27" aluminum radiator for my '65 W100 today. I like aluminum because a) it is light weight and b) newer technology = better cooling for the given area that the radiator takes up. I also like electric fans because they a) do not suck up as much hp as a mec...

I bought Mile Marker locking hubs from Jegs for my '70 W100. They are pretty decent and were about ~$60. SO far so good!

Re: Headers,,,,again?

In my experience exhaust headers always help low and mid-range power. They are absolutely a necessity for top end power. IMHO the only reasons NOT to run headers is: a) If you live in the salt belt, near the ocean, or your truck is stored in a rust prone climate. b) If you have to pass emissions and...

PowerMan, that is an awesome pic! Hopefully I never get stuck that bad in the mountains without a winch! I don't really know anyone that has a running PowerWagon that will take it off road so we are a one-truck band out here. Next pic is the planting of the garden. I dropped off some zuch's and squa...
