Re: 1967 D100 318 Transmission Crossmember

That is strange. FYI, I also think the engine was swapped before. Maybe the engine and tranny were swapped as a set from something else? Jeff It wouldn’t have been a set with later model tranny and a hydro bell. Assuming the pilot shaft is actually reaching the pilot bushing you may be better off o...

Essential parts should be held with ratchet straps. Non essential parts are ok with bungee cords or duct tape.😃😃

Re: 1971 D100 questions

Original owner of the truck bought the FSM at the same time as the truck in 70. Mine doesn't have the addendum. It ends with specifications and "tightening' values. Maybe later editions had the additional sections. I'm confident that is the case. It was the same manual for 1969 - 1971. They address...

John,
How do those tires ride and drive on the road? Noticeably different than radials?
Jim,
They're fine with me. Mine are on a W200 with the split ring wheels so
I'm running tubes as well. They hum on the road.... but I like them for
their original look. Hope this helps. :Thumbsup

I'd say you still have a problem with the turn signal switch assembly. :pale

Re: tires

Might be time for some different wheels. Looks like there are stock looking steel wheels out there that are 7 inches across. I'm running their 7.50 x 16 on my W200 but there are 15" available from STA..... https://www.stausaonline.com/tires/sta-super-traxion/ Made in the USA. :Thumbsup Basically wh...

The 300 chassis is narrower than the 100/200 chassis. The steering box bolts to chassis thereby causing the steering column to conflict with brake pedal; so pedal assembly is relocated.
Interesting. :thinking Good to know.

The brake and clutch pedal assembly is located differently also.

Re: Rear differential ratio

I have a 1963 Dodge D100 that had a factory 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual . I have changed it to a 360 magnum with 727 automatic transmission. When I drive on highway the rpm is really high . What would be a good gear for the rear differential. I think it has a 391 in it now . Thanks I put a 2.94 i...

Now, I always thought sweptline owners were at the top of the food chain when it came to intelligence. I'm disappointed with you guys. I can also replace the wooden side step spacers with PVC so that they never rot. :thinking You can use white oak like Dodge originally did and it'll last a few decades too. :2cents I assume you looked at Mar-K Products and they don't offer anything that you need for the 9' box. :thinking :Thumbsup ...

Re: Tire and rim size

The 16" wheel with the proper 5 on 4 1/2 bolt circle was an option for
the 100 series Sweptline. They're not easy to find. For a 15" wheel, the
235/75/15 is a good choice. For a 16" wheel, the 225/75/16 is a good
size.

I have heard it has been done by those with the longer wheel base 300 1-ton models, so has anyone here done it? Other than cutting and welding, any tips or useful measurements? Thanks! To do it accurately, you'd need to add length at both ends..... not just from the axle forward. :study John
