My W200 crew has a fresh Magnum 5.2, with sequential injection, a518 with OD and lock up, with 4.10 gears. Does the same as my 71 with a worn 400, a727, and 3.73 gears. 10 mpg.
Only thing I have seen where anyone was doing drastically different was with a diesel swap.

Yeah, it was a little unnerving drilling all those holes in the firewall after I had coated it!

Re: 1969-1971 Factory A/C into a non-A/C pickup
Best bet really is to get a hold of a factory firewall and trace the holes to make a template. As I recall on my 70, none of the factory holes for the heat only firewall were used on the AC system. However, the Heater only water hose and mounting holes are present on an AC firewall, so they make goo...

Re: Looking at an M105A2 trailer, anyone familiar with these
I found some info today on olive-drab.com which looks like the 105 box is about a foot larger in width and length. That would probably account for the extra weight. I do like the idea of surge brakes, so I can use with a vehicle without electric brakes.

Looking at an M105A2 trailer, anyone familiar with these?
Ever since I got my 70 W200 I thought it would be neat to have a similar vintage trailer. I recently found out about one fairly close that seems to be pretty solid and priced good as well. It is supposedly a '65 from the National Guard, easy life. My understanding is the 105 means 1-1/2 ton, A2 mean...

Agreed.
I had just this discussion with Rick Ehrenberg, the tech editor from Mopar Action a few years ago.
He says the ignition box requires the requisite 7v the ballast provides, and will have a short life at 12v.

Yep, start with the cheap ballast resistor.

Re: 1971 Crew cab question
If the thought is to build it for profit, odds are seriously stacked against you.
If you are looking to flip it, or part it, there will be people interested in keeping their projects alive.
The 1 ton crew cabs are fairly rare, but that doesn't usually monetize.

Re: Transmission is toasted...need ideas
A 518 can be installed fairly easily, but will open up other issues, and require lower gears. I have one in my 70 crew. Although, doesn't the slant 6 use a different bell housing? That would be a deal breaker. I would recommend a Trans-Go kit as well. Installed one in the 518, really like! It also e...

The drive shaft was probably spinning. Put it in gear and the other tire will probably spin then.

Re: spice 60 rear vent
As mentioned that is the vent, and hold the brake tee. And they do clog up. They also can snap if you get rough with them, or the threads are corroded! So proceed cautiously. They are pretty easy to clean with a stiff wire and pipe cleaners.

I see you posted right as I was and beat me to one of the solutions I was going to offer!! Anyway, I will still post it. --- Odds are the front drum was probably replaced at some point and that is why it got right hand studs. I know it is hind sight, but in situations like this, a breaker bar ...

Re: Power Steering Conversion
The flat Trailgear piece is the way to go!
They aren't clocked, so you can install at any position you want.
I then had to drill out the drag link hole on mine and bolted it to a heim joint, rather than fiddle around trying to find a ball-stud to fit.

Re: SWEPTLINE CREW CAB QUESTION
Here is the build thread, with a ton of pictures, on my 70 W200 Crew Project. http://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14030 I am 6'3" and the crew is much more comfortable than the regular cab. The seat can go back a couple more inches. My W200 is pretty stiff, it has the 1 ton springs o...

Re: Question about the forum?
Migrating data between forum packages can be a real pain, done it a couple times myself. From my experience, a join date quickly becomes non essential, compare dto all the other details that have to sync and the consequences if they don't. So everyone that was a member before the move got their date...

Re: more heater core help....
You may have already got this taken care off, but I have several pictures from when I refurbed the box for my crew cab. http://picasaweb.google.com/nfury8u2/ACBox# The box has to come out, so that means breaking open the AC system and all the vacuum lines. It might be possible to do in place if you ...

Re: Vented gas cap
The non vented tanks require a vented cap. The caps should be vented one way, so they don't build a vacuum and collapse the tank (seen it happen!) A properly working vented cap will still allow pressure to build in the tank. Why the pressure builds is a different issue. I have been chasing a pressur...
