Re: Canadian Sweptline Addict

Whupps!
Alberta eh?
Guess I wasn't thinking outside my little world of Ontario.
I like the colour of your 71. Mine is orange with the factory wrinkle paint roof. 318 auto with factory power steering.
Guess i better let you get back to putting the tranny on the back of the engine for the earlier one.

Re: Canadian Sweptline Addict

Hi Jason;
You said you were going to put a four barrel on your 71.
If you don't already have an intake, I have a 340ci cast factory manifold dated 1972.
I was going to put it on my 71, but decided against it.
I am in Whitby/Oshawa area. Have been to Sterling market many times.

Re: 727 Trans. Lengths Short/Long?

Thanks Russ;
I think I'll pass on the diplomat. The Wilcap aluminum adapter plate is designed to be used on a 727.

Re: 727 Trans. Lengths Short/Long?

Thanks for your info Nfury8; Likely have to adapt to exising tranny crossmember anyway, so the long tailshaft slip joint is less $$ and easier to come by. Was hoping that I wouldn't have to carve up the floor hump by using a shorter tranny. A friend is telling me about a 318 Diplomat. Says that I co...

Re: 727 Trans. Lengths Short/Long?

Thanks Russ for the info. I think I like the short one. If it is a truck item, maybe it's a bit more heavy duty. The car weighs over 4000lbs. The old semi auto tranny is really just an electrically shifted 4 speed manual. It has a bolt up flange on the tailshaft. Changing the diff is in the plan bot...

727 Trans. Lengths Short/Long?

I was reading where nfury8 had both short and long 727's in the shop. Can someone explain the difference in length, and where they were used. Perhaps what years I should look for. I have an extended block 331 hemi, and I have bought a Wilcap adapter to a 727 small block bolt pattern. I want to keep ...

Re: any repro sheet metal out there?

Hi; I don't know about repro, but I have NOS front fenders still wrapped in Mopar brown paper. I didn't need them for my 71. Don't have the part#s handy, but they are left and right, and one # apart. They have no holes for marker lights, so can be used from 69 to 71 for sure and maybe earlier. They ...

Re: 67 Power wagon-fender, hood interchange? pics here???

Hi;
I see that Hobcobble mentions that 61 to 71 fenders are the same except for marker light holes.
Can anyone tell me if these fenders are the same size for 300, 400, 500 trucks?

Re: Stainless Drip Rail

Hi; Thanks to all who offered info. I figured it hadn't been removed as there were no screw holes. Russ, your comment about the short piece welded on above the vent sounds right . I wondered how that thin stainless would be fitted past that. C Body, I think I saw your truck on the front page of "Old...

Curious about date and time when posting

Hi; After my post I noticed that it read Friday April 25th at 8:04 Where I Live it is Thursday April 24th at about 6:00pm That makes a 12 hour jump ahead. What time zone is the site in? Another question is when it lists me as joining the site. It reads Jan. 1970 I think that's about a month before t...

Stainless Drip Rail

Does somebody out there know what was required to have a Stainless drip rail on a D100? My 71 has midbody trim full length as well as wheelwell and above the rocker panel molding, shiny grill and chrome bumper. No stainless trim in either windshield weatherstrip. I have seen other with the shiny dri...

Sweptie to the Rescue

While travelling north on I 75 in Georgia on April 12th, I saw a nice, light green 67-70 longbox Sweptside off to the side of the road. The driver was walking back to what I believe was a later model Ford truck that was parked a few yards back. I was so busy trying to avoid 18 wheelers and trying to...

Thing is, there is 10" of snow on the ground and more to come tonite.
My truck is tucked away til spring.
Good tip on the horn, I can just see my son's face when it won't beep.
My bald spot will miss another scrape or bump.

Re: MY TANK

Thanks for the info.
I have a little bit of play in my steering wheel, and have adjusted the steering box. I thought the play might be in the control unit, maybe tired springs or something.
Thanks again

Shipping Glass

Don't know what you mean by "small back window", may be back windshield or crew side window, but I would cut a piece of 3/8" plywood 1" bigger all around than the piece of glass. Put half a dozen dots of silicone evenly spaced around the edge of the glass and place it on the plywood and let it cure....
