Re: Engine Intermittently shuts off

I too have a problem. For me, my '71 W 100 would be hard to start. Like, all of the sudden I would loose spark. I still have not found the problem, and the truck still don't start. I did notice when the 318 was running, that there was a humming or buzzing sound coming from the distributor. Contacts ...

Moving Along, And New Stuff,....

Hello folks! I now have the floor pans of my 71' W100 in position and ready for welding into place. I'm using a Lincoln Mig 180 with Argon gas, and .030" solid wire. I used Napa Rust prof on the areas of cab and floor pans that I wound not be able to get to once the pans are welded in. Then some pri...

Re: Just An Update

Thanks. I figure I'll wire for the single ballast for my new single pick up coil. The engine and trans in my truck is out of a said 84' Ramcharger. I don't think the wire job is going to be as tuff as time consuming. I'm eager and ready! Fun-fun!

Re: Just An Update

Is there anyone who you would recommend for a new harness kit that I can look into? I do have a harness coming for the electronic ignition system. I think Chrysler started using this system in 1972 and I believe the 1984 stuff still used it as well. I already bought a complete system new, just tryin...

Re: Just An Update

One is enough! On another note, my 71' W is coming along great! I have the driver's side floor pan in place, held in with butt weld clamps, ready to be welded in to place. The passenger side floor pan is being cut to fit, and I have a good start on the project. I got to stop some floor pan cracks in...

Re: Just An Update

Had to include some new found information about this 1967 D100 I just found. From Hemmings Classic Car publication, in the July 2013 issue by Mike Nessor is an article titled: The Grocery Getter-1967 Dodge Sweptline. Then a subtitle reads: With So Few 1967 Dodge D100 Sweptline short bed pick-ups bui...

Just An Update

Well, it's been quite a journey so far when it comes to my 71' W100 and the cobbled up mess its in. I've picked the minds of enthusiasts to learn what it is exactly that I have starting with the drivetrain and axles on this rig. And with the help of a certain Mopar enthusiast, I'm learning quite a l...

Re: I've been away... hoping to get my 69 back in shape

I'm trying to get my 71 D100 converted W100 off the ground as well. For me, its all about researching and learning. I make time to work on it, and save up the cash for what needs next. I just got the cab sitting up level, as it had been sagging below the top of the bed. Then, I was happy to finally ...

Re: Corrected 1970 Wiring Diagram

So far, what I found was that the conductor insulator color is labeled BN when reviewing the rear lighting diagram in the Specifications chapter on page 27, wiring diagram for the D100, D200, W100, and W200. The color legend in the top right corner of the page is printed BR for brown insulator color...

1971 Dodge W100 Cab Lights

Where do I tap into the headlamp switch for power to the toggle switch to power my cab lights? Is it the BROWN wire at the R location of the headlamp switch?

Thank you for any feed back!

Re: Corrected 1970 Wiring Diagram

I have the 1969-1971 Dodge Trucks Service Manual & Supplement too, that I purchased through Bishko Automotive Literature. In this reprint publication, I find minor errors, and was told they are intentional for copy right reasons, ect. .

Re: Bed Mount Angle

UPDATE ! Figured out I was going about the approach of aligning the bed height, and bed body lines to my cab of my '71 W100. I must have walked around the bed all afternoon, and countless times in the garage until I figured out I needed the truck to be outside where I had enough space to walk away a...

Re: Bed Mount Angle

Hey, thank you for the help! I do believe we can figure something out about these bed mounts. I had just realized the bed is sitting a touch higher than the back of the cab, so I'll have to correct this first. Once I have the bed sitting good, I can get back into the cab where I'm still cutting out ...

Bed Mount Angle

Hey guys ! John here. So on my 71 W100 I have the long Sweptside bed. There are 8 wood mounts total. I have since successfully made the first 4 mounts from the front of the bed towards the back. I went with some good old hardwood from a pallet I got free from work. I’m now researching on how to firs...

Sorry for jumping in. I'm trying to research and learn as much as I can about my 71 Dodge D 100 that's now a W 100. Reading through this article, and I know I'll have to read again, but someone mentioned engine mounts as I have a concern about mine. Also, the transmission cross member has me concern...

Re: Some new pics of my 1971 D100

Amazing how rust free your truck is! Very cool looking custom! I love these '69-71' Dodge trucks much more than the 72's and up. Mine is a 71' as well, and I've quite a way to go just to get road worthy.

Your truck is super cool!

71' W100 Engine Mounts: Where To Get?

Hello Sweptline.ORG! I have a concern about the engine mounts in my truck. They look like they should be replaced. Each side of the engine looks to have a two piece mount. Can anyone please direct me as to where to find replacements? Pictures of your W or Powerwagon mounts would be greatly helpful. ...
