Original W 4 speed and transfer case
Hello! I currently have a automatic transmission with NP transfercase donated from a 1984 Ramcharger that was coupled to the same 318 motor. I also have decided to have the trans and t case totally rebuilt. But I have also decided to search out for a 4 speed manual shift and divorced t case. What ar...

Re: sweptline parts
I ordered floor pans from Kenny Exline over in PA. I bought then 3 months ahead of time when I decided on the project. Think he does that stuff on the side, he was working on a nice orange sweptline at the time. PA being one of the many states I've sourced parts for my 71 w .

Re: 1971 sweptline headliner panel removal
Thanks! The one I got looks like a recovered vinyl, black. Probably not factory, but don't have trim holding it up. Wile back, a few years...I got a fantastic set of cab lights included was the new original replacement lens from off a dodge 500 truck.

1971 sweptline headliner panel removal
Hello everyone! So a while back I scored a fantastic Grote replacement cab lights out of California, original equipment. I have been wondering what is the best way to remove the headliner panel to access the cab light mounts. Seems simple, but I don't want to wreck it taking it down. Thanks!

I'm back, update....
Good morning everyone! I'm still here, and still working on my 1971 Dodge Sweptline W ! Last summer I finally got the 318 running! I just got the windshield in last month! Having this old truck to build is a great personal joy to me! I currently have a 318 in my shop that I'm rebuilding to replace t...

Re: 69 A100 converted to electric
I'm not sold on any benefits of battery power. Batteries are toxic to the environment, price of new electric cars are above and beyond the price of a 4 cylinder gasoline car, registration stickers are now 150.00 per year in my state for electric cars, distance of electric cars very limited. No thanks.

This Is A New Problem To Me
So, my 84' 318 engine in my 71' W100 seemed to start and run fairly well with the dual plane Offenhauser 360 aluminum intake manifold. Looking at this poor engine, I get the feeling there were too many spoons in the stew at one time. For starters, there was oil leaks from the front and back of the m...

Gosh, could you post up a picture of your motor home? I know where a 1970 Dodge motorhome is but I don’t recall the two piece windshields it had .

Re: Head Trouble
Yea, that's correct. Us tractor guys always go from the "sitting" in the seat viewpoint. My bad, lol!
On another note, took me all day to clean and repair the intake manifold. Found this video: https://youtu.be/8BiTRvGeEB4

Re: What Is It About These 318 Engines?
Well I guess, from the article and video, I got an LA 318? I know my push rods are not that "slanted", though I'm forgetting what side the valve springs are on when I changed out the valve cover gaskets. My documentation, study, and note taking has probably improved since then. I'll have to keep up ...

What Is It About These 318 Engines?
I keep reading and hearing about folks who have a "318 polly", or a "318 LA", and even a 318 Magnum.
What are the differences? I'm not sure I can tell what 318 I have.

Re: Head Trouble
Interesting. It might be worth my while to look into this shop. I really feel my 318 is a good engine, and kind of think it would be a lower cost to rebuild, than a new long block 318 crate engine. I'm more scared about finding the right person for a 318 engine over haul than paying for it. Yes, I m...

Re: Head Trouble
I'd really like to post a picture or two, and of what I had been sharing. Trouble is, I need to figure out how to resize my pictures. I fished out a piece from the oil pick up screen when I had the oil pan off. Was fishing around in there with a magnet, and just was not magnetizing anything. I final...

Re: Head Trouble
Thank you for the information. The engine is a 318 from a 1984 Ramcharger. I have pulled the oil pan to check for anything and nothing was found. I'm going to clean up the intake area, and throw some new gaskets back in. I'm not going to worry about this problem finding the one broken piece right no...

Head Trouble
Well, I removed the intake manifold from my 318, and twisted off head of a bolt. Got the intake manifold off and found weird pieces of metal resting on top of the lifter valley. About all I can say right now is I suspect some sort of valve component, like maybe a keeper or something. Kind of short o...

Re: Anyone Buy A New Distributor?
Being a new guy, this warranty void sticker is just stupid. One must be able to note the rotor location, and I'm going to check the reluctor air gap. I got to watch getting tripped up on things, lol! Sorry for the post.
