Re: Flipping for a Spare Battery
I have a spare battery on opposite/passenger side. Brace is gone from front end/radiator holder. Spare tray fits in nicely. Among other things, I use it to run a 12,000 lb electric winch on the front end. Has an isolator so that you can also run 12V power off it. Highly recommend it. If you scroll d...

Re" ... " it overhangs one side of the channel by 1/2"-3/4" on both windows" Have that same situation on one of the trucks I am working on. Spent quite a bit of time in online research/using "contact us" at various suppliers and have found no one that makes that style. Post the source if you get luc...

Re: 318 rear main seal replacement
Makes sense ....
Noe I just need to find the proper replacement parts.
Since the pan needs to come off, makes me wonder about tackling the timing chain.

Re: 318 rear main seal replacement
Have a 1971 318 (GM318R 34232545) that was dropped into a 67 W100. Do not want to remove the engine. Truck was already lifted and has hedders so oil pan is easy to get at. Already have starter off and engine oil filter off/oil drained. Currently in the process of replacing the expansion plugs (just ...

Doors - Swapping out Doors from Different Models
Up here in Spokane, WA. Have a 66-67 W200 that is a bit of a mutt. Cab had door closing mechanism from earlier years (refrigerator style) that was modified to take a later 67-68 door (push button) and it's latching mechanism. Question: Live in an area that has a history of grain harvest trucks, also...

Re: Emergency Brake Cable Length - Rear Cables
Thanks Mark Thanks for the info on the pump. Update: Used the front cable out of the 63 short bed W100 (transfer case brake) as the new cable on the 66 short bed W200. Was able to smoothly route it on the frame side (inside the rail) of the front cross member, opposite side of the headers. It has a ...

Re: Emergency Brake Cable Length - Rear Cables
Quick update on custom cables .... Talked to a long time steel and rigging supplier here in Spokane and they do custom work with cable/"wire rope". I just need to take them in a sample for ends and fittings and specified lengths. Need to get samples and lengths together. Will post if it happens with...

Morning Mark, First, nice website. Support the kind of work/approach you are taking at Wintergarten. Sidebar, studied at Cornell Ag school, and also graduated from Penn State's Turf School. Second - The long bed (68 W200) I am working on was originally owned by the Forest Service up here in Washingt...

Re: Emergency Brake Cable Length - Rear Cables
It is kind of hard to totally disregard a 15 word reply. Especially one that ends with an exclamation point. Re Mico Lock usage if there is no fluid in the system. Agree that it is useless for a truck in motion. Since I only drive manuals, I think that using the transmission to slow a vehicle is a m...

Re: Emergency Brake Cable Length - Rear Cables
Thanks for reaching out. Guessing things are slow down in Walnut Creek right now. "SOL" is not quite true from a practical perspective. Let's explore .... Mico sells these locks as a "supplemental safety device". From their own literature "The MICO Electric Brake Lock is installed directly into a ve...

Re: Driver's Side E-Brake Cable W200 v. D200
Just posted a different thread about this - "Emergency Brake Cable Length - Rear" Have 2 lifted W200s with the same issue. One is further complicated by ladder bars/rails. Other by headers and dual exhaust. Need longer rear cables to solve both problems. Can possibly solve issue on the driver side b...

Emergency Brake Cable Length - Rear Cables
Working on a pair of W200s (one short bed, one long bed) - both need their rear emergency brake cables redone. Need more length. Each has it's own challenges. I do have some donor rig parts. Situation: Both have been lifted. long bed has been modified with ladder rails/bars. Short bed has also had h...

I have the entire cable (including fittings) removed from a 63 W100 that has the parking brake associated with the rear drive shaft on the transfer case. Is that the type you are looking for a length on?

Re: Aftermarket Overload Springs
Am trying to repair/replace a busted overload spring on a 68 W200. Was modified to use as a crane/winch truck for a log cabin build. Also has ladder bars.
Do you have any pics of the original overload springs? Measurements/Specs? Trying to get an idea of what I can do ...

Having a hard time removing the light switch from a 66 W200. Found this thread. Switch arm moves and rotates, can find and depress release pin on switch, but arm will not release (can feel it still in the notch, played with it quite a bit). Removed /loosened switch collar so I could rotate assembly....
