Waking up the 1971 383 Engine
I’m looking to do a little work on my 71 D200 with the factory 2bbl 383 and 727. Not wanting to get into a full rebuild. But would like to wake it up a little. Possibly add a 4bbl intake, headers, possibly a double roller timing chain and new cam. Only thing done to engine currently is I converted f...

Re: Factory Carter carb leaking
I'll give it a try bending the tab some. If I run the engine shut it off then open the carb to look in the float bowl would the fuel level be accurate where it runs at while driving? Trying to get an idea if i need to adjust float or not before I bend the tab any. Also what should the engine timing ...

Re: Factory Carter carb leaking
I can try the fuel filter. Possibly something plugged it up. Fuel system is all brand new. Cleaned and coated tank at a radiator shop new sending unit new hoses/lines pump 2 inline filters and rebuilt carb. Is there a way to adjust the float in this exact carb? Didn't see any way to adjust it while ...

Factory Carter carb leaking
My truck started having some issues this past weekend. Went to go up a large hill and about half way up it started to bog lose all power and barely made it up without stalling. Ran fine once on flat ground so I kept driving. Decided to lay into the throttle some to see what it would do. Started to g...

To each there own but yes they are worth it on a track truck. Especially for $500 or less why not.sweatybetty wrote:in reality, you dont need disc brakes on the rear. the fronts do 75-85% of the stopping or more. if you want to waste money just to look "cool" go right ahead, but remember, it is a waste of money

Did you have to move the leaf spring pads or shock tabs on the axle? What's the width difference?Jhollett wrote:I can't shed any light on the ford version but I swapped an 89 D250 Dana 60 into my 69. No mods had to be made at all

Thanks guys so the factory paint would most likely be acrylic enamel from what you's say.

Was all the square style mirrors on the Dude's chrome? Mirror heads and posts both chrome? Missing one square mirror head but have the post still mounted on the body.

Re: 1970 Plum Crazy Dodge Dude
From the pics it does look like it could very well be a Dude. It sucks that once the original paint and side decals are gone it's almost impossible to prove it being a factory Dude. Wish they designated the Dudes back in the day at the factory with a fender tag or something that would make them more...

Re: Spicer 60 rear disc conversion
Yea I'm familiar with the late 70's axles being able to do disc swaps on. Everyone sells bracket kits and swaps for them. But wanted something that works on the stock 71 axle. Anyone ever look into swapping a newer dana 60 into the sweptline or the axle WMS from the 71 d200's compared to a late 70's...

Wanted to give a bit of an update. Been busy working on the truck any chance I had the past couple weeks. I had a local car show sunday I set my deadline to be to drive it there. I want to give a very big thank you to MadMC63 for his generosity on this steering column part search. I honestly don't t...

D200 383 header choices?
Looking to possibly buy a set of headers for my 71 d200 with a 383 engine. What brands are out there that fit good with no interference with anything? Don't want to have to ding any tubes to make them fit. Are there any long tube headers that work? Thanks for any help.

Re: 1971 steering column diagram needed
Other 2 links don't have a picture from what I can tell. The one with the picture even says in the description it's the shifter cup not the bearing housing. So either the part number is wrong or the online page has the wrong part # and description? Did you get that part number right out of the parts...
