A100's in movies

How about " Guess who's comming to dinner?" Spencer Tracy and Catherine Hupburn
"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" was on TCM Christmas night. I counted four Mopars! Now I have to watch it again! That A 100 van was clean. It sure must've had a great radio, that cat and kitten were rockin! I watched the rest of the movie wondering if they would show up again, but they probably ended up at the Fillmore and forgot to come back.

I just saw an episode of "Overhaulin" where Chip Foos (SP) tricked out an A100 short wheelbase truck. I never googled "Overhaulin" to see if they have a website. If they do they might have some pics or maybe a schedule of re- broadcasts? They installed some custom wrap around bucket seats which was cool. Nothing seemed to be done to the running gear but if I remember they did drop a 440 in. I'll have to re-watch the tape to soak up all the details. They used a locking gas cap from a viper (cha ching)that was molded in beautifully and they reshaped the "diaper looking" panel under the rear bumper. Maybe the rules have changed for street legal but maybe in Calif. (where the truck was from) you don't have to have a front bumper anymore. I liked that look for custom as I think the stock bumper looks too utilitarian. All in all the pictures flashed by so quickly that it was all too hard to tell some things.

I have that Overhaulin episode saved on my DVR. They did a masterful job on that truck. The motor was a 300 horse 360 crate engine from Mopar Performance. Someday I'll record that to a DVD and then I'll post some picts of it. Last time I looked, it was nowhere to be found on the website.

Disney's Bruce Willis movie "The Kid". In it the Dad pulls up in one scene in a brown A-100.
