Mirror placement
With the pedestal mirrors, when adding a passenger side mirror. Does it mount in the same position as the driver side?
Late 65 w 200.
Factory LU-2 winch.

I don't know if it was the same on all years, but on my '71 the inner door hinge reinforcement came drilled from the factory with the three holes. So, all you would have to do is remove the door interior trim panel and utilize those holes as a template to drill the door skin. You're going to have to remove it any way to install the nuts.
Van's had a good price on the chrome plated reproduction pedestals. I utilized SurePlus 310 chrome plated rectangular mirrors I sourced from McMaster-Carr, but they have since ceased to stock them.
