Every once in a while but on the rise my truck will crank and crank and not start unless I wiggle or push on the key. Then it will go.
Ignition switches can fail right?

Yes. Any electrical component can fail.

Just picked up a new one for my W200 a week ago. Same problem.
It would "catch" just as I let up on the key.
