69 AC/Heater Control Button Back Popped Off
The control buttons on my 69 W100 just broke. Or, I think they broke. They back of the button console seems to have snapped off from the body, and the buttons all push in to--nothing.
Given I have AC, I can't quite get in there to see whats what. Is all hope lost, or will it all snap back together, once I get access?

Got it a little more apart. Looks like it might be repariable (unless someone has one laying around). Any ideas how the gates assemble?

The vacuum controls are a common issue. Some guys have been successful in repairing them but, you will probably have to R&R it. You should be able to remove the 4 screws a and takeout the entire unit. I'm not sure if the 69 is the same as the 70 I have. FYI some of these switches are pricey and be aware they fit several different dodges. Post a picture of the front where the buttons connect.

Here's the front. Any idea if other Mopar unit swap in?

Thanks. There seems to be tons of NOS around. I may as well go that route, unless this guy is mistaken?powerwagon54 wrote:I have a used set.

I meant the inside front. You should be able to cross the part number. Look for a Standard Motors Products HS104. I have used it on a couple Mopars but, not a truck. It may be different.

Mine is stamped 3895033. Best price I found was on eBay for $59.92. I checked the other crosses, and still the best price.I'll check your number next. Seems the part was used in pretty much everything Mopar, for a number of years.

Your number doesn't work. Looks like the same body, with a different button interface.riffraff wrote:Roger.my5thmopar wrote:I meant the inside front. You should be able to cross the part number. Re: 69 AC/Heater Control Button Back Popped Off
To follow up, I ended up buying an NOS part number 3502126 from eBay, for about $70 shipped. Seems to look and work the same, so far as I can tell.
For fun, I ran a bead of superglue around the back-plate joint for insurance; but if this one lasts as long as the old one, the next time it fails, it will someone else's problem...
