A D200 would be 2 wheel drive and a W200 would be 4 wheel drive. I notice the front tires stick out a bit further than the rears. Maybe it was converted to 4 wheel drive with a newer, wider axle. The engine is a Poly 318, which is different than the later LA 318.

the D44 and D44HD axles are a bit wider than the rear D60 axles.soopernaut wrote:A D200 would be 2 wheel drive and a W200 would be 4 wheel drive. Welcome to the site! Looks like a very cool early '65 W200.

The fronts stick out because the front tires are marginally larger than the rear. The one on the back is a smaller tire that we put on to tow it home. But the tag says it's a D200 so you may be right about the conversion. That's what's exciting about it, I really don't know! Any other signs that it's converted that I can look for?soopernaut wrote:A D200 would be 2 wheel drive and a W200 would be 4 wheel drive. Is the hole for the transfer case levers hand cut or die punched (factory)? Does the tunnel cover have the exact same paint (all layers) as the floors?
