One more question for you guys.
The drivers side hood hinge bolts have torn out of the metal rib on the underside of my hood. I was going to remove the hood, weld in my patch panels in both locations and then drill new holes in the patches.
Has anyone dealt with this before, and if so do you have any tips before I dive in?

I have the same problem. How did your repair go? I believe you need to weld on a nut to the backside of the patch panels for the hinge bolts to attach to before welding the patch panels on.

Re: Hood hinge issue
That's exactly what I did and you would never know they had torn out.
Pretty simple repair actually.

Re: Hood hinge issue
May be an old thread but I was reading through. If you go to your local plumbing or electrical supply house and ask for 3/8 uni strut nuts they work great for captured nuts behind panels. I used them on my hood in this situation and also on the pesky upper rear fender location that bolts thru just above the kick panels
Hand me my hat. Excuse me man, where's the door
